The 2-day tour route of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park can be planned like this

1. Understand the geography and administrative divisions of Zhangjiajie

Zhangjiajie is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province. It governs two districts and four counties: Yongding District, Wulingyuan District, Cili County, and Sangzhi County. The urban area is Yongding District. Wulingyuan District has many attractions. The Zhangjiajie Forest Park that everyone wants to visit is in Wulingyuan District.

2. Accommodation

Due to the numerous attractions in Wulingyuan District, accommodation and dining conditions are relatively average. Wulingyuan District is close to Yongding City. You can actually choose to live in the city, where the food and accommodation conditions are better. It takes more than an hour to drive between the two areas, so just get up early the next day.

3. Ticket prices

The ticket prices in off-season and peak season are different. The off-season is from December to February every year, and the peak season is from March to November every year. Due to the large size of the scenic area, the ticket is valid for 4 days. Tickets can only be used by yourself and cannot be replaced if lost, so keep them well.

4. Preparation for travel

Change into appropriate clothes, wear sports shoes, and prepare food and drinking water in advance. Prices in the scenic area are relatively expensive. The cost of sightseeing cars in the scenic area is already included in the ticket, so you don’t have to worry about rushing.

5. The first day

It is recommended to enter from the entrance of the forest park--walk the Golden Whip Stream--visit Shuirao Simen--take the Bailong Elevator--visit Yuanjiajie --Take the ropeway down the mountain from Yangjiazhai--Return to the entrance of the forest park.

6. The next day

Enter from the Wulingyuan sign gate - take the electric train to visit the Shili Gallery - walk up the mountain - visit the Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area - go down the mountain on the Tianzi Mountain Cableway.

7. It should be noted that there are ropeways in Huangshi Village, Yangjiazhai, and Tianzi Mountain, and there is a Bailong Sky Ladder in Yuanjiazhai. These are not free, but half price for the elderly and children.
