Resources in Chixi, Taishan

Chixi is rich in resources, including tin ore, pyrite, silica sand ore, black sand ore, crystal, quartz stone, rare earth ore, granite, etc. In particular, granite has the largest reserves and has been mined in large quantities in history. In the Taishan area, only Chixi has black sand mines, mainly stored in Tonggu Black Sand Bay. The coastal waters of Chixi are vast and have a wide variety of aquatic products, including more than 800 species of fish, as well as shrimps, crabs, and shellfish. The algae is famous for its seaweed.

Chixi is rich in tourism resources. Newly developed areas include Heishawan Bathing Beach Resort, Yutang Haijiao City Tourist Resort Center, and Hakka Villa Tourist Resort. There is the newly established Guohua Taiden Tourist Station for tourism services. The tourist resort in Chixi has become a new tourist spot for tourists from the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macao. Chixi also has tourism resources that need to be developed, such as Longtan Waterfall, Qintou Bay, Dajian Island, and Caofeng Ecological Tourism.
