The story of me and my eyes
From about 20 17 or earlier, the right eye became blurred and the vision decreased for more than a year. I always thought it was because of the growth of age and the increase of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. During the period, I also ordered some eye drops to improve my eyesight, and even ate a lot of pig liver to improve my eyesight, but the effect was minimal. In the second half of 20 17, the blur in the right eye became more serious (600-degree deep myopia in the left eye, poor vision for a reason, which will be explained later). At this time, I suddenly found that my right eye could not see the scene in the camera frame clearly, so I had to take pictures with my left eye. At that time, I didn't think about cataracts and eye diseases. It is estimated that myopia has deepened. 20 18 returned to Heshun during the winter vacation, and went to the optical shop to get new glasses, but my right eye couldn't see clearly the image in the vision testing instrument, so I barely got a pair of glasses. In fact, I already have cataracts, because I don't know that even if I wear new glasses, my vision will not change at all.
20 18 after the winter vacation began, this is the second semester of senior three I took. Time is tight for teachers and students, and the pressure of college entrance examination suddenly increases. At this time, I found that the students in the second row could not see clearly when standing on the platform in the classroom. I asked the students many times, because I couldn't see their faces clearly and called the students by the wrong name. Students often laugh. After taking off my glasses, my right eye can't see clearly, no matter how far it is. I wanted to go to the hospital to have my eyes examined, but the time in senior three is too precious. The pace of the college entrance examination is getting closer and closer. I attend classes and serve as the head teacher. So I endured the visual pain of looking at flowers in the fog every day until the end of the college entrance examination, but the school affairs were complicated, so I decided to wait until after the holiday for examination and treatment.
In mid-July, with the help of Dr. Bai Xiaojiang, the ophthalmologist of Jinzhong Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital carefully examined my vision, fundus and other items. The weather was hot, and the doctor took pains to ask about the examination, and the initial diagnosis was cataract. Someone suggested that I go to the provincial eye hospital to find Liu Jie, and recheck the diagnosis for the doctor. I made an online appointment for Dr. Liu's expert clinic, but I couldn't get the number for a week. It is convenient to make an appointment to pay 24 yuan online on July 23rd.
On Monday, July 23rd, the temperature was 30, and one of my sister's daughters didn't attend the family dinner at noon. At that time, I thought I should be back at noon, but the development of things was completely independent of people's will.
Leave for Taiyuan at 6: 30 in the morning, take the 90 1 bus at Zhongdu intersection, and arrive at the provincial eye hospital at 8: 05. Recharge 100 and get a medical card, thinking that everything will be fine. I consulted some people with the same experience in advance and checked all the items of the examination, such as checking eyesight, measuring intraocular pressure and mydriasis (it takes 55 minutes to disperse twice). I made an online appointment at 10: 09 am for Liu Jie to show my eyes to the doctor, because Dr. Liu is a famous doctor and involves many people. In other words, during the summer vacation, almost all primary and secondary school students came to optometry and glasses. I observed that nearly 20 optometry rooms were overcrowded. I started to take the number at eleven o'clock and waited until twelve o'clock to enter the fifth consulting room. There are five or six people in front of me, but the waiting time is very long. An hour later, it was already one o'clock at noon. I hurried back to the clinic, but Liu Jie had gone off work to find a doctor. At this time, a sense of frustration and even anger welled up in my heart. In desperation, after consulting a friend and reminding me not to leave, I waited in the hospital and asked the nurse on duty what to do after work at 3 pm. Facing the reality, I can only accept it. I simply had lunch outside the hospital and went back to the second floor of the hospital to rest. It's very hot, but there is air conditioning in the hall. Finally, at three o'clock in the afternoon, Dr. Liu did not go out of the clinic and went for cataract surgery. He asked the nurse on duty, but the nurse enthusiastically contacted Dr. Liu. Dr. Liu asked me to find Dr. Yang Fen on the third floor of the inpatient department, and finally found Dr. Yang. I was received by a young woman doctor. After reading the test results briefly, she examined my right eye with an instrument. A bright white light flashed through my eyes. It hurt, Yang.
When I got back to Yuci, it was very late. It's already past five in the afternoon. It took me nearly 12 hours to have a cataract examination. I am exhausted and deeply aware of the reality that it is difficult to see a doctor.
After the right eye cataract was diagnosed, I wanted to treat it conservatively, but many professionals said that surgery was necessary and there was no other good way. Because the children of relatives are married, it has been put off until August 6. A friend of Heshun contacted an eye hospital in advance, and the operation was scheduled to be around 10, but something happened halfway, so he changed his plan. On August 13, Director Qiao of Jinzhong First Hospital contacted the director of ophthalmology, and soon arranged the operation on the afternoon of 16.
The new site of Jinzhong First Hospital was just opened in June 10. On August 13, we drove from Longhu Avenue and went to Jin Dong Avenue smoothly. Jinzhong No.1 Hospital has high grade, first-class facilities and few people see a doctor. We went to the ophthalmology department to find Director Yang, a smart middle-aged female doctor, who was very enthusiastic and asked very carefully. She had three eye examinations in the morning and told me that she would go through the admission formalities on June 14, and then she had some examinations.
Go to the First Hospital of Jinzhong City for admission at 8: 00 am on August 14. I happened to meet my student Dong Zhiyuan (Grade 2009, Yuci No.2 Middle School) who works in the finance department here. Zhiyuan enthusiastically helped me with the admission procedures and told me some precautions. I found the ophthalmic ward on the 0/2 floor of the surgical inpatient building/KLOC. Students played an important role at the critical moment. As a teacher, I feel very proud. There are quite a few patients hospitalized in ophthalmology, all of whom are elderly people in their 60 s and 70 s. After I went, the nurses were quite surprised. The nurses at the workstation were so busy that they began to take my blood pressure (128-94), do ECG, draw blood, take urine test, mydriasis, cut eyelashes (also called skin preparation, and tie the upper and lower eyelids together after cutting eyelashes), and wash the lacrimal passage (.
At 4: 00 pm on August 15, I went to the ophthalmology department of the First Hospital of Jinzhong City to check my eyesight. My attending doctor, Gao Yukun, told me about the structure of eyeball (cornea, pupil, vitreous body and retina), the position of vitreous body, and various risks that may exist in cataract surgery (my physical examination indicators are normal, the ophthalmic artery may bleed, the retina may be damaged, the intraocular lens may fall off or not adapt to the human body, the intraocular lens will deviate, the vision will be reduced, the color of both eyes will be slightly deviated, the myopia degree of intraocular lens should be matched, and a good intraocular lens can see better at night. And make sure to choose the intraocular lens you need. Dr. Zhao from the Provincial Eye Hospital will operate on me, but unfortunately he didn't ask the specific name. I met Director Yang Hongxia and Dr. Gao Yukun in the Department of Ophthalmology of the First Hospital of Jinzhong City. They are noble in medical ethics, exquisite in business, kind and patient, and I feel very warm in my heart.
On August 16, I arrived at the ophthalmology inpatient department of Jinzhong First Hospital at 2 pm. The nurse gave me eye drops for mydriasis twice, and then I put on my hospital gown (it was the first time to wear this kind of costume, which was a bit awkward), put on my bracelet and had surgery in the hospital, and waited in the operating area on the fourth floor at three o'clock. I am the second eye cataract surgery patient, and the first one is an old man in his seventies. At about 3: 40, the nurse called my name After going in, the nurse confirmed my name again. The nurse asked me to put on my shoe cover, put on my hood and led me inside. Operating rooms with many different diseases. Finally, an operating room nurse picked me up, entered a small single room, sat me down, reconfirmed my name, and made a mark with a pen above my right eye. I can't help but think of 1996 cartoon composition "Six Fingers Plastic Surgery" in the college entrance examination. The doctor cut off his thumb by mistake, but left six more fingers. The examination of composition should be about "responsibility", which is a medical accident for the hospital. Medical care is a matter of life and death, so now the medical management of hospital surgery is more standardized and strict. I sat on the stool and the nurse gave me some anesthetic water. Two or three minutes later, I ordered another injection of anesthetic. After waiting for more than a minute, the nurse dragged me into the operating room. Because my left eye is not good and my right eye is closed, I vaguely see seven or eight people wearing green medical clothes. They all seem to be women. Dr. Zhao, who operated on me, is not tall and chats with others while packing. The nurse told me to lie down. Although Dr. Gao had told me before that cataract surgery was painless, I was still vaguely worried and nervous. The nurses put a piece of cloth on my face and tightened it, revealing my right eye. I don't know what instrument can be used to firmly open the upper and lower eyelids of the right eye. I can't blink. The extremely bright white light shines on my eyes and I can't see anything clearly. I heard the sound of holding all kinds of equipment and the crisp sound of metal appliances colliding. Dr. Zhao chatted with his assistant while operating surgical instruments, which made me relax a little. He joked that "men are more nervous than women because they have a heavy burden and are afraid of death than women ... haha". In such a relaxed atmosphere, the tension has indeed been eliminated a lot. Then I feel that the doctor is washing my eyes with liquid. It's a little cold. A huge instrument shadow caught my eye. I heard the instrument buzzing, probably in the minimally invasive incision, phacoemulsification, but there was no pain. Liquid keeps washing my eyes. This may have broken my turbid vitreous body and sucked it out. This process only takes three or four minutes. I heard that Dr. Zhao asked his assistant to take the intraocular lens and asked for confirmation. I saw a shadow implanted with crystals. Standing for dozens of seconds, my eyes are a little swollen and uncomfortable. The doctor told me that I would get well soon, and this feeling of bloating soon disappeared. The doctor washed my eyes again and told me to close them. The nurses arranged everything for me, covered my right eye with a gauze curtain, and then I walked out of the operating room by myself. It is estimated that the time on the operating table is ten minutes at most, and it is eighteen minutes from entering the operating room to coming out. It is really a sigh that medical technology is changing with each passing day and human civilization is developing rapidly. Following the doctor's instructions, I went to the eye ward and lay down for an hour and a half. After my blood pressure stabilized, I went straight home without any discomfort in my eyes. My brother-in-law and my brother-in-law were both in the hospital this afternoon, and I was very moved by that constant affection.
On the afternoon of August 17, I went to the First Hospital of Jinzhong for reexamination. Dr. Gao took off the gauze that covered my eyes, and my right eye was very clear. My 250-degree myopia, coupled with high-tech intraocular lens, has restored my vision when I was young and I am in a good mood. I checked my eyes and my eyesight, and everything was all right.
On the morning of August 20th, I went to the First Hospital of Jinzhong City to go through the discharge formalities. I went to see director Yang Hongxia and had my eyesight checked. I am completely qualified, and ordered me to order some eye drops. Go to the nurses' station in the ophthalmic ward on 12 floor, take out the hospital certificate, and go through the formalities in the inpatient department on the first floor of the surgical inpatient department. Dong Zhiyuan students arranged in advance, eliminating the procedure of queuing for review, and I would like to thank Zhiyuan in particular. The operation cost * * * 9200 yuan, and the surgical treatment officially ended.
It was a minor operation. I don't want to alarm anyone, but my relatives, friends, colleagues, students and so on. Anyone who knows the situation calls to say hello and even visits me. I am deeply moved and grateful.
The right eye is used to treat cataracts. I think I owe my eyes a debt in my life. It is necessary to tell the story of my left eye again here.
1August 1994, I was in Class 95, Grade 3, Heshun No.1 Middle School. 1995. At that time, the third grade had already begun to make up lessons. One afternoon, around four o'clock, I took the money to the guidance office to pay the fee. When I walked to the west side of the old building, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my left eye. Then I sat on the ground and felt a fever in my left eye. When I took my hand away from my eyes, my hands were covered with blood. Without saying anything, Dean Du Jianye took me to the county hospital by bike. Dr. Bai Guiying, ENT of the hospital, checked that the white eyeball was broken. Fortunately, the cornea was not injured, which made me sit still. Because I need to sew up the wound, and I need an anesthetic. I watched the needle go into my eye socket. This pain and fear lasted for many years. When I closed my eyes, the needle often stuck in my eyes. Dr. Bai sewed two stitches on my eyeball and went home. After the anesthetic passed, I screamed in pain all night that night. The suture of the eyeball wound makes my eyes particularly uncomfortable. It was not until seven days later that my left eye was slightly better. From then on, my 100 degree myopia began to deepen to three or four degrees, until 600 degrees, and I was beaten into a traumatic cataract. The floater in my eyes continues. At that time, medical awareness was relatively indifferent, and I had to go to the provincial professional eye hospital for treatment. It is estimated that the damage to the eyes will be greatly reduced. Later, I rested at home for a month, and Mr. Xu Haiyan took my place in class.
So how did my left eye get hurt? It took me more than ten days to know. That day, when I was walking on campus, it was the time for recess and the students in Grade Three were playing. A boy named Zhao smashed a small stone at a distant classmate with a branch. I guess it hit my left eye with a lot of effort. This is a coincidence, which hurts me. At that time, the students were scared and ran away. Later, the students in Grade Three reported this matter to Zhang Ruiqing, the director of junior high school. Director Zhang found the student named Zhao. In this way, ten days after my injury, Zhao went to visit me at home. Considering that my eyes are ok (in fact, my left eye was disabled when I had cataract surgery on my right eye this year, my traumatic pupil dilated and my iris ruptured), and they are all from the same village. The child accidentally injured me, and they didn't feel too late to see me, and they didn't ask for medical expenses, so the matter went away. Over the years, I have been used to thinking from the standpoint of others, being good to others and convenient for myself. Since then, teachers such as Zhao Tianqing from the Chinese Language Group of Heshun No.1 Middle School have jokingly called me "Mr. Carpenter".
The eyes are the windows to the soul. When the eyes are covered with dust, they can be cured by medical means, but the "window of the soul" must not be polluted by dust. I hope everyone has a pair of clear and bright eyes!
