Characteristics of cold palace

The treatment of concubines in the cold palace is very poor, and many concubines will choose to commit suicide if they can't accept it, similar to the plot in TV series.

For example, Zhen Fei is the concubine of Emperor Guangxu and the most favored concubine. Later, she was killed by Empress Dowager Cixi. The cold palace where Zhen Fei was imprisoned is located at the northernmost part of Ningshou Palace, just north of Jubaotang. It's a small courtyard, very remote.
