On June 1 day and August 1 day, 2008, total solar eclipse was observed in eastern Xinjiang, northeastern Gansu, southern Ningxia, central Shaanxi, southwestern Shanxi and western Henan, and partial solar eclipse was observed in other parts of the country except some islands in the South China Sea. A partial solar eclipse can be seen in Shandong.
