What is the use of cloud-hosted backup?

The function of cloud hosting backup is to back up personal data such as address book, short message and pictures on the network through cloud storage.

With cloud backup, the data in the mobile phone or tablet will be automatically backed up to the cloud at regular intervals, ready for standby. Photos, address books, calendars, memos, some third-party application data, system settings, desktop layout and other important contents are automatically backed up, and the data is safe and worry-free. You can view the existing backup records of other devices on any device, and you can easily recover the data when it is deleted or changed by mistake. After logging in to cloud hosting, the cloud backup switch is turned on by default.

If you turn on gallery data synchronization on the device, your photos and videos will be uploaded to cloud hosting through the gallery, and cloud backup will no longer back up your photos and videos separately. Only devices with EMUI version 5.0 and above support the cloud backup function. If you are using the EMUI version below 5.0, please use Huawei Mobile Assistant for backup.

Supported backup contents of cloud hosted backup:

Gallery (photos, videos), contacts, calendar (schedule), memo, WLAN settings (WLAN name, password), call records, information (SMS, MMS), weather (concerned city), clock (alarm clock settings, concerned city), camera (settings) and situational information (such as high-speed rail and flight card information).

Audio, input method (thesaurus, settings), browser (bookmarks), system settings (such as display and sound settings), mobile phone housekeeper (such as rights management), desktop layout, application list and some third-party application data.
