Types of dental implants

First of all, according to the classification of planting parts

Implants can be divided into submucosal implants, subperiosteal implants, root implants, intraosseous implants and mandibular implants. The most commonly used is intraosseous implantation.

Second, according to the planting time classification

1, immediate implantation: refers to implanting the implant into the alveolar fossa immediately after tooth extraction.

2. Delayed implantation: refers to the dental implantation operation when the tooth extraction wound heals and the alveolar bone absorption is stable three months after tooth extraction.

Three, according to the number of operations and implant structure classification

1. One-stage implantation: an implant (one-stage implant) with body, neck and abutment as a whole is implanted into bone at one time through surgery. After this method is implanted, the abutment is exposed to the oral cavity, which is affected by certain functional load and oral environment factors in the healing stage of bone tissue, which is not conducive to the healing of bone tissue.

2. Second-stage implantation: The method of implanting an implant (second-stage implant) with a detachable pile into the tissue through only one operation is called second-stage implantation. After bone healing is completed, the post is connected with the implant, and the implant denture can be repaired without secondary operation.

3. Two-stage implantation (secondary implantation): The operation is carried out in two stages. The implant was implanted into submucosa for the first time, and after the bone tissue healed, the second operation was performed to connect the pile with the implant.

Four, according to the classification of implant materials

The materials used in dental implants include metal materials, ceramic materials, carbon materials, polymer materials and composite materials. Among them, titanium implants have good biocompatibility. And it is widely used because of its excellent physical and chemical properties.

V. Classification by Retention

1. Fixed implant supporting complete denture: the superstructure is fixed on the foundation pile by cement or fixing screws. After the denture is put on, the patient can't bring it by himself. Can be divided into:

① Implant denture cemented outside the post; (2) The implant denture is cemented in the post; ③ Removable implant denture.

2. Removable implant denture: It is a partial or complete overdenture supported by abutment, alveolar ridge and mucosa.

Six,

According to the shape of the implant, it can be divided into cylindrical, threaded, stepped, pyramid, leaf and so on. The first three are commonly used implants.

Seven,

According to the structure of implants, there are primary and secondary implants, of which the secondary implant is the most commonly used.

Eight,

According to the surface of implant, it can be divided into glossy surface and rough surface, and rough surface implant is the most commonly used.
