Near Jiayuguan, Gansu Province, there is a white stone for airing sutras, which is said to be the place where Xuanzang aired sutras. It is said that in the Tang Dynasty, Xuanzang, Wukong, Bajie, Friar Sand and his disciples went through all kinds of hardships, traveled long distances, got back from India, crossed the Flame Mountain and the Shule River, and came to the Hexi Corridor. On this day, the weather was particularly hot, and the scorching sun was burning like a fire. The endless Gobi Desert was so hot that there was nowhere to hide. The stones were baked like fire in the sky. Xuanzang rode ahead, and the three disciples followed closely behind with their scrolls on their backs. After a few steps, they were all sweaty, dry lips and red faces. Pig Bajie couldn't stand it, so he begged the master, "It's going to be hot, so it's not too late to find a shade and rest." After hearing this, Xuanzang immediately shouted, "This Gobi desert is thousands of miles away, and even a grass doesn't grow. Where can I get a tree? It's important to hurry!" Pig had no choice but to pout, panting and hurrying forward. As he walked, he looked at the sky, only to see that it was blue and there was no cloud. By the way, he said, "How happy it would be if it rained now."

unexpectedly. As soon as the voice fell, dark clouds clouded over, thunder and lightning flashed, and the pouring rain poured down. The four of them were drenched and the scriptures were all wet. After the weather cleared, Xuanzang hurriedly ordered Wukong to explore the road and find a good place to spread out the scrolls to dry. Wukong turned his head over the clouds and found a black and oily black stone mountain not far away. Upon inquiry, he learned that this mountain was called Dongting Mountain. Wukong quickly took the master to the mountain, and Xuanzang was very satisfied. He pointed to a big black stone and said, "This stone is a good place to dry the scriptures. You should quickly open the scrolls and spread them out to dry them, and ask Bajie to guard them. There must be no mistakes." Soon, the scrolls dried up, and the four of them hurriedly packed up the scrolls and prepared to hurry. Unexpectedly, a few pieces were glued to the stone, and they could not be removed. I have no choice but to copy it on other paper.

soon, the black stone that had dried the warp rolls suddenly turned white. Later, people called this stone as white as jade "hanging stone". Since then, this folklore has spread.

in the early Ming dynasty, in order to consolidate the defense line in the northwest, Zhu Yuanzhang sent Feng Sheng, the general of Lu, to garrison the Hexi Corridor, and prepared to build a customs there to prevent the invasion of the Mongwa Priests beyond the Great Wall. Feng Sheng inspected everywhere, looking for the site, and finally decided to build a Xiongguan on Guigai Mountain. He quickly invited skilled craftsmen, put lines and nailed stakes on the mountain, and prepared to break ground the next day. Who knows the second day early in the morning, Feng Sheng came to the construction site and found that the lines and piles on the ground had disappeared. He sent people to look around and called the soldiers on duty last night to ask. The soldier on duty reported, "I didn't take a close look when I was on duty last night. At the fourth watch, there was a sudden strong wind, and it was dark. After the wind stopped, I saw that the lines and piles on the ground were gone." Just then, looking for lines and piles elsewhere, the soldiers came panting and reported: "The lost lines and piles have been found on Jiayu hillside in the north of the narrow valley." Feng Sheng went there in disbelief, and was really surprised to see the piles and lines nailed neatly on the hillside. He calmed down and carefully watched the terrain here: I saw the Qilian Mountain in the south is snowy, the Mazong Mountain in the north is continuous, the Gobi Desert in the west, the oases in the east, and the flowing springs. At the foot, the mountain is flat, and there are 5 mu of land in Fiona Fang. If you build a pass here, you will be condescending, you can attack when you enter, and you can defend when you retreat. Then think about it carefully. At the beginning, it was located in Guigai Mountain, which is the lower reaches of the Taolai River. In summer, due to the massive melting of snow in Qilian Mountain, the flood rushed through and the whole army was wiped out. The more I think about it, the more fortunate I feel. "God really helped me to change my address.". Feng Sheng immediately played on the emperor, and later, he built a 22-foot-long Jiayuguan City.

according to legend, the relocation of Guancheng was entirely due to Guan Yunchang's apparition. In memory of him, the people built a "Guandi Temple" in Guancheng. The temple consists of a main hall, an accompanying hall, a court, an archway, etc. It covers an area of about 72 square meters and is very magnificent. Many people, in order to show their piety, also volunteered to raise funds and donate money, and bought a treasure pearl with heavy money, which was embedded in the top of the hall. Since then, the orb has radiated dazzling light day and night. One evening, suddenly, the sky was dark, dark clouds were overhead, and there was lightning and thunder. The whole city people were terrified and ran out of their homes to watch. They suddenly heard a deafening noise and suddenly saw two dragons flying in the air, flying into the Guandi Temple and never coming out again. The next day, after the rain cleared, people came to Guandi Temple to have a look. On both sides of the top of the hall, there were two giant dragons, which were lifelike, just forming a "two dragons playing with pearls". This myth and legend has been passed down to this day.

Excerpted from History and Legends of the Great Wall, this book was purchased at Badaling Great Wall, without indicating the author, publication date, unit, etc., and only marked "Made by Xingchuang Weiye Culture Development Co., Ltd." at the back of the book. The following series are all based on this.

"Ten mouthfuls of gold pot are exposed, ten mouthfuls of gold pot are exposed, and hundreds of herbs can be found everywhere." This is a ballad circulating in Badaling. What happened? There is a story and legend.

when Qin Shihuang built the Great Wall, he recruited migrant workers and skilled craftsmen from all over the country. Northerners have nothing to say, especially southerners who come to the north and are not acclimatized. Coupled with insufficient food and heavy labor, more people die. The little devil of Yan arrested the soul that died on the Great Wall and went to the Chenghuang Temple to cancel the account. Lord Chenghuang opened the household register, looked it up one by one and said; "These people are not old enough to die and cannot be cancelled." The imp reported back to the king of Yan, who came to the city god to argue, saying that they were dead and filled in the Great Wall. Why didn't they cancel their accounts? The city god said, "They have not lived long enough, and they should not have arrested their souls at all." Both of them said their own reasons, and neither of them obeyed. I have no choice but to go to the Jade Emperor for a lawsuit. The Jade Emperor listened to the reasons for their dispute, and the lawsuit was not easy to break for a while, so he let them go back first, and then let Taibai Venus go down to the mortal world to make an investigation. Taibai Venus changed into an old man. When he came to the Great Wall, he realized that there were really too many dead people, with thousands in winter and tens of thousands in summer. There are two main reasons for death: one is not enough to eat, and the other is too heavy to live. At the same time, I also learned that the Great Wall was built to defend against foreign aggression. Taibai Venus returned to heaven and told the Jade Emperor. In order to save migrant workers and speed up the construction of the Great Wall, the Jade Emperor sent the old gentleman and the medicine king down to earth. The old gentleman made ten pots of gold and ten pots of gold, which are precious. No matter how many people eat the rice cooked in those ten golden pots, they can't finish it. Migrant workers no longer work hungry. Those ten gold shovel are even more powerful. No matter how big the stone is, with a stroke of gold shovel, a big stone strip with four edges and lines will come out, and migrant workers will no longer have to work hard to dig the stone strip. In order to cure the diseases of migrant workers, the King of Medicine has sown many medicinal seeds inside and outside the Great Wall, and grown many herbs, such as Bupleurum, Anemarrhena asphodeloides and Atractylodes lancea, and there are dozens of them. When migrant workers are ill, it is good to eat them as soon as possible. With these treasures, the project was really fast, and soon, the Great Wall of Wan Li was repaired. The ten pots and ten pots of gold were confiscated by the old gentleman, and they have been buried in Badaling all the time. I heard that there were exposed edges and loops, but no one could find them. Medicinal materials are everywhere.

Let's talk about the case between Lord Yan and Lord Chenghuang later. The migrant workers who built the Great Wall should not have died before they died. They should not have taken their souls away. The Jade Emperor decided that the city god was right, the Yan was unreasonable, and the Yan lost the lawsuit. So later, people built temples for the city god, called the city god temple, for the jade emperor, called the jade emperor temple, and also for the old gentleman, laojunmiao, and the medicine king, but no one built temples for the king of Yan. I don't know if there is one nearby, but there is no temple of hell around Badaling, the Great Wall.
