What season has the most snakes?

Because snakes usually mate in early spring and summer, and lay eggs and hatch in summer.

The optimum temperature for snake activity is 20~30℃. In this suitable range, the growth rate of snakes increases linearly with the increase of temperature. For example, a study showed that the monthly weight gain of cobra adults was 64.7 g, 72.7 g and 94.3 g at 65438 08℃, 23℃ and 28℃, respectively.

A total of 208 species of snakes were evaluated in the Red List of Species in China, including 5 species of extremely endangered species (2.4%), 4 species of endangered species (1.9%), 60 species of vulnerable species (28.8%) and 28 species of endangered species (13.5%), and 8 species should be paid attention to.

Among them, the most endangered one is Mangshan welding head, and the number of individuals in the existing wild population is less than 500, which is extremely endangered.
