The Origin of Laodao River in Changsha City

Laodao River, also known as "Laotang River" and "Julio River", is a first-class tributary of Xiangjiang River and is known as "the second largest inland river in Changsha". It is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, originated from Zhou Luo Village, Shegang Town, Shizhu Peak, Liuyang City, and flows through Shegang Town, Long Fu Township, Chunkou Town, Shashi Town, Beisheng Town, Yong 'an Town, chunhua town, huanghua town and Kaifu Town of Changsha County. The total length is 14 1 km, and the drainage area is 2543 square kilometers. Legend 1: It is said that Laodao River flows into Xiangjiang River from Liuyang City in the east and passes through Changsha County and Changsha City in the west (Li Anyun Mountain is misty in the distance, and the highest peak (not visible in the picture) is Shizhu Peak's altitude1359.7m). It is said that the name of this river is related to Guan Yu's expedition to Changsha in the Three Kingdoms period. Legend has it that Guan Gong led a large-scale attack on Changsha and came to the Laodao River to station troops slowly and explore the truth. One day, Guan Yu and his men entered the Xiangjiang River by boat along the present Laodao River, and then went all the way south, trying to find out the river defense situation in Changsha City from the waterway. However, due to the dense and heavily guarded warships on the spacious Xiangjiang River, Guan Yu privately thought that if Changsha was captured by water, it would definitely not work, so he was unhappy and led his men back to camp, ready to plan another war. Unexpectedly, when the ship sailed into the mouth of Xiangjiang River, a big wave overturned the ship. Guan Gong, who has always been steady, had no time to guard against it, and the dragon crescent moon blade in his hand accidentally fell into the river. Zhou Cang followed Guan Yu for many years, knowing the performance of the dragon crescent moon blade, plunged into the water and fished it out after seven miles in one breath.

"Why did Bao Dao fall into the river and walk 7 miles against the water to find it?" It turns out that according to legend, the dragon embedded in Guan Gong's treasure knife came into the water and survived. After nodding into the water, the dragon went against the current with a nod. From then on, the place where Guan Gong dropped his knife was his mouth. Guan Gong's subordinate Zhou Cang fished for knives in that river, which is called Fishing River. Legend 2: An Examination of Diaoyu Island River (Popular Edition)-The Story of Guan Yu's Murder (Author: Du Luolian)

Changsha, Hunan is one of the first historical and cultural cities in China, which is famous for Mawangdui Eastern Han Tomb and the newly developed Hexi Han Group. In fact, it also has a scenic spot that should be famous but not famous-Laodao River.

In today's northern suburb of Changsha, there is an area called Laodaohe Town. This town is named after the old river that flows through it. Nowadays, the Laodao River is rich in all kinds of knives, scattered in three Hunan and four waters. So how did the name Laodao River come from? This is about Guan Yu, a so-called gentleman, a so-called hero, Guan Yu, who was famous for his benevolence and righteousness in the United States.

At the end of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Bei, the armed leader of the Central Plains landlords, joined forces with Wu Dong, defeated Cao Cao's southern army in the north and occupied Jingzhou. In those months, Wei in the north has been preparing for famine. In diplomacy, the suppression of Wu Dong's forces has been strengthened. Faced with this situation, Liu Bei must speed up the battle for territory. General Guan Yu was sent by him and went all the way to today's Hunan Province.

At that time, under the leadership of the magistrate Han Xuan, Changsha County respected the imperial court, and the people were rich and the society was stable. However, there are some problems between leaders-civil servants and military commanders. Of course, these problems are inevitable in human society.

In the face of strong enemies, although there were many internal contradictions, Changsha county leaders made great efforts to arrange ambushes and beat the vanguard of Guan Yu's army out of the water in the northern suburbs of Changsha. Guan Yu, a general who underestimates his enemy, just rushed to the front this time, dropped his sword in the water when he fled back in a hurry, and finally got rid of the pursuit. This beautiful ambush war is not mentioned in the history books, because the author of history does not like to see Guan Yu's failure.

I heard that the other commander's weapon fell into the water, and the Changsha county magistrate organized the military and civilians to salvage it. The weather was fine that day, and it was also a good day for Changsha people. Many people came to the river from far away to watch the event. After a morning's hard work, the broadsword was caught on the bamboo raft. Before this, Guan Yu sent a light bow team to ambush on the other side of the river, and launched a crazy shooting on the other side unsuspecting. At least hundreds of Changsha people, including children in their mothers' arms, fell into the river.

Guan Yu led the troops forward with a knife in his hand. Six miles away from the city, we fought a rather asymmetric battle with Changsha defenders. Changsha garrison-Changsha all walks of life, mostly farmers, suffered heavy casualties. The suburbs of Changsha are completely exposed to bloodthirsty people. Guan Yu issued a secret order to "kill the city" here and executed dozens of his own soldiers-because these people did not listen to his orders and prevented the general from losing his knife from spreading abroad.

After several contacts, the cracks in Changsha's leadership have become bigger. Han Xuan, the satrap, insisted on defending the land to the death and never let Guan Yu, who was insane, enter the city. He said at the rally of the whole city, "If they go to town, they can only step on me." However, the military commanders headed by Huang Zhong don't want to fight any more. He pretends to be sick at home every day and refuses to perform his duties as commander in chief.

Guan Yu's army met unprecedented resistance outside the city, among which several years old children fought to the death, which caused great fear to the whole army. This matter attracted Liu Bei's attention and sent a civil servant to solve it. He thinks it is important to get a complete and stable Changsha. Liu Bei ordered a notice saying that his family name was Liu, representing the big fellow ... and this time only Han Xuan was killed. Changsha people are great. After Huang Zhong defected, Han Xuan announced that he could die as long as all the living things in the city existed. Guan Yu refused, and Guan Yu said that everyone in Han Xuan had to die. Finally, Liu Bei asked again before deciding. Han Xuan, the satrap, committed suicide and fell from Chengtou, fulfilling the oath of "entering his mansion". Changsha City was preserved, and the people of Changsha built Han Xuan's tomb in memory of Han Xuan. And regardless of Guan Yu's strong opposition, the river was renamed "Laodao River". After Guan Yu's death, the name was Kai, which has been passed down to this day.

This matter has passed for a long time, and for those who write history, it is hardly worth writing in the book; In addition, all previous dynasties have been whitewashing Guan Yu, completely mythologizing him. As a stain, it is not suitable to take it out again, so it is dusted off by heavy history, and in man-made history, all the protagonists have been modified, which is unfair!

Whenever I turn over and see "cannibalism" and "success or failure" above, I can't help but want to brush away the dust, see the sleeping historical truth below, and write it out to let everyone know the real page!
