Chongwen Pagoda is located in chongwen middle school, southeast of Jingyang County 10 km. It is the tallest brick tower in China with a long history. About 360 years ago, this tower is one of the best preserved brick towers in China. Now it is a provincial key cultural relics protection unit. There is a cultural management office and special protection. Built in the 21st year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, the tower is a pavilion-style brick tower with an octagonal plane and thirteen floors, with a total height of 83.5438+08m. It is a bagua suspended ceiling designed according to the principle of ancient architecture, and the tower body is all made of blue bricks. All the towers are octagonal, with a ground floor of 9 meters on each side and a circumference of 72 meters. There are four windows on each floor, and there are four niches outside each floor, which cross each other. Buddhist niches are built with stone carvings of the Ming Dynasty, sitting or standing, with different shapes, which are extremely vivid. The south gate of the second floor tower is engraved with the word Chongwen Pagoda, which is the largest brick tower in China. You can climb from the tower to the top of the tower, and you can visit every floor inside and outside. When the weather is fine, when you climb the top of the tower, you can see the scenery of An, Jing, Wei, Hua Yue and Mount Li vividly.
Chongwen Pagoda stands proudly in Taiping Village, Chongwen Town, southeast of Jinghe River 10 km. This tower was initiated and presided over by Li Shida, a senior minister of Jingyang in the 21st year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1593), and was built by a craftsman in Zhenjiang, Nanjing. Completed in the 31st year of Wanli (1605). The whole tower of Chongwen Pagoda is made of blue bricks, which is pavilion-style, with *** 13 floors. Each side of the ground floor is 9 meters long and its circumference is 72 meters. The foundation of the tower is Sumitomo, and the tower is octagonal. Chongwen Pagoda is engraved on the south tower door. There are four doors and four niches on each floor of the tower, and there are various and lifelike Ming Dynasty stone Buddha statues built in, sitting or standing. There are brick steps in the tower, which can reach the top of the tower in twists and turns. On each tower eaves, several layers of giant bricks are folded and extended to form a waist eaves platform with a width of more than one meter for tourists to visit. The bucket arches and brick eaves rafters on each floor are assembled with specially-made ground bricks, and the tenons and mortises are interlocked, and there are brick carvings with various patterns, which are extremely spectacular. Wind chimes are hung on every cornice. In the early morning and moonlit night, wind chimes jingle, adding charm to the ancient pagoda. Castle battlements are built around the top floor. When the weather is clear, visitors can look out at the battlements and patrol all around. At night, they can see the magnificent scenery of Bashui around Chang 'an and Lishan Mountain, and they can also vividly see Gyeonggi and Weihe River. There is an original copper basin at the top of the tower, and there are 8 different types of bronze Buddha statues under the basin. Unfortunately, the copper basin was broken and stolen after the drought in Guanzhong in 1929, and the small bronze Buddha was dug up by local children in 1980 to sell copper. Fortunately, it was discovered and redeemed by the county cultural unit and is now in the county museum. There used to be several evergreen cypresses on the top floor, but now there are none. 13 floor, that is, the top of the tower, is a copper gourd about 5 meters high, which is quite magnificent.
Chongwen Pagoda broke the typical square pagoda in the Tang Dynasty and became octagonal in form. All caves are in the form of arches, and its horizontal height and magnificent posture can be compared with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi 'an.
The floating picture enters Qingyun, and the Weihe River flows far and near. If pillars are not needed for a long time, who will build them in the southeast? Cut the top and stab the blue sky, and the clouds are blurred as hats. Breathe the sound of wind and rain, and go around the dragon road. Ten miles in Chang' an, shrinking to only a corner. Looking down at the pale color can be fear or mourning. These well-known poems describe Chongwen Pagoda's majestic posture and elegant demeanor. Every year, on the 23rd and 24th of the first lunar month, local people will climb the pagoda ancient market. During the ancient market, they also exchanged materials, transmitted information and traded in agriculture, and local dramas and acrobatics also joined in, which was very lively.
Chongwen Pagoda 1956 was announced as a scenic spot and the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in Shaanxi Province on August 6th. With the deepening of reform and opening up and the implementation of the strategy of developing the western region by the CPC Central Committee, Chongwen Pagoda is also constantly opening to the outside world. It has become a window for Jingyang to contact with the outside world and a bridge for the world to know Jingyang and Jingyang to the world.
