The Social Culture of Lukou Town

Since 1996 was founded, science, education, culture and health in Lukou Town have developed rapidly. The town actively used the national preferential policies to increase investment in education, and the primary and secondary schools in the town implemented the rural distance education project, which significantly improved the teaching quality.

1996 since the founding of the township, the local party committee and government have set up the old-age gongs and drums team, the young-age gongs and drums team and the flower drum lantern team in order to enrich the cultural life of farmers. 1998 was named "the hometown of folk gongs and drums" by the city. Every festival will hold a gongs and drums competition. From 1997 to 1999, the gongs and drums team and the lantern team participated in the 4th Guangdong Lantern Festival and the City Song Dance Competition respectively, and won the second and third prizes. In April 2004, the Lukou Branch of Yingshang County Folk Writers Association was established. Successive party committees and governments have attached great importance to the inheritance of traditional cultural heritage with Huaihe cultural characteristics, such as pushing dramas and flower drum lanterns.
