There is an overnight train from Chengdu to Liangshan Prefecture. Go to Liangshan in the morning, transfer to Yanyuan County, and then take a bus to the lake. The most beautiful scenery of Lugu Lake is in Sichuan, such as Caohai. You can walk along the lake to Rigg Peninsula and stay. Rige is the most concentrated place for self-help tourists in Lugu Lake, with a large number of inns. The essence of Lugu Lake is on this road. Of course, if you are tired, you can go for a ride or take a boat. Many ships take tourists to Rigg. This is the first night.

Get up early in the morning and take a bus to Lijiang. You may pass Lashihai (a big lake) on the way, so you can get off and have a look. Lashihai is not far from Lijiang, and many cars go to Lijiang. There are many inns in Old Town of Lijiang. It's too late to find them now. This is the second night.

Go to Shangri-La by bus early in the morning. It will take at least two days to go back and forth. If there is not enough time, I suggest giving up and going to Yulong Snow Mountain instead. It will take a whole day.

Or ride a bike around the Lijiang River and spend a day looking at ten thousand camellias, white sand murals and Xue Cun in Song Dynasty. At the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain, there is Locke's former residence in Xue Cun of Song Dynasty. The scenery is beautiful. Personally, I think this route is more cost-effective than Yulong Snow Mountain.
