Reading short stories for the first time

Autumn wind cherishes the warmth of summer.

The second chapter of the first reading of Summer Swan

read

* * * Reading preparation

"One autumn rain and one cold, ten autumn rains need to wear cotton". With the arrival of summer, the sunny weather seems to be over. This week, the continuous rain has given children more time to stay in the classroom, and our teachers and students have officially started reading.

After reading by parents and children, children are already familiar with the plot of Summer Swan. What deeper things can children read from books after being read by a warm family?

While thinking hard, a teacher seminar lit a bright light for me. In the teacher's guide, Mr. Huang reminded us that we can design this reading activity by combining the "questioning strategy" put forward in the fourth grade Chinese textbook. Read this book carefully again, and our reading journey begins. ...

Part 1? Developmental pain

* * * In the first week of reading a new book, children have questions about the cover and some contents of the book. For example:

Why is the book called Summer Swan, but there is a boy and a girl on the cover?

Why did Sarah say that she liked her orange sneakers and she hated them?

Why did Sarah say, "You are smart when you are smart"?

As teacher Huang Rukun said, most fourth-grade children, especially boys, have never experienced the moment of paying too much attention to themselves. In the first round of reading, most children's problems were puzzled by Sarah's troubles. So we read the first section mainly around "growing pains".

First, let's see what Sarah was worried about before her brother lost. In this session, the children automatically formed a reading group, opened the book again to read the previous chapters, and sketched the records. Soon, the key information was recorded on the reading list.

Although some of the children's questions have not been answered, I know that the teacher can't answer why Sarah pays too much attention to herself, and this understanding of life can't be obtained by asking and answering.

So, I asked the children to seriously think about the five things they think are the most important and annoying at this stage and record them on the reading list.

"Do teenagers have geometric troubles?" We often think that teenagers have no worries. Perhaps, we don't pay attention to the troubles of teenagers.

Part two? Roast!

recruit

It's time to share their troubles. The children are both expecting and a little shy. Because it is true, they must think more carefully.

I ask the children to speak out their troubles loudly, so that those depressed feelings can be released through listening and encouraging everyone. When listening, you should record other people's troubles beside yourself.

The tucao conference began, and the children raised their hands high and couldn't wait to share their secrets, big and small.

"I am not satisfied with my height. I am afraid that I will not grow tall in the future. "

"The teeth are uneven, and I always dare not open my mouth when I laugh."

"I'm not satisfied with my figure, but my parents let me eat two bowls of rice every day!"

"My grades are not good."

"I often have a stomachache, which affects my class."

"My sister is very annoying."

"Mom and Dad always quarrel."

"Every time I do well in the exam, I am complained by my good friends."

"My good friend has alienated me recently."

"I'm afraid I'll lose my friends."

……

Although "teenagers don't know the taste of sorrow, they are forced to say new words." When I recorded these troubles of my child, I felt that my child really had troubles for the first time.

After the communication, I asked my children to compare their troubles with others' to see if there are similarities and differences.

Children's troubles are more or less concerned about their looks, their academic performance and their interpersonal relationships. These troubles are real, because they are the only way for people to know themselves.

Paying attention to self is human instinct, and paying too much attention to self, in a sense, is a deeper process of self-cognition.

I asked the children to think about their homework in the evening. What do you think is the most important thing in their future life?

What children talk about most is honesty, friendship, affection and ideals.

Compared with other people's troubles, some students find that their troubles are not worth mentioning at all, some students find that they are really "worrying about the sky", and some students find that they are just "worrying about the sky". As a result, the children silently corrected their hearts. They accepted their concerns and wanted to put them on more important things.

They are eager for truth, trust, companionship and beauty.

The phrase "resentment is too strong to prevent heartburn and the scenery should be open-minded" is changing from expectation to reality.

Part three? Braveheart

The third page of the reading list is to reread the chapter "Looking for Charlie", and then list the people and things that changed Sarah. In "Summer Swan", the friendship of several children is as touching as affection. Mary, who accompanied Sarah from beginning to end, and Joe, who turned an enemy into a friend, and Sarah and Joe searched for their younger brother together, which was also the process for Sarah to get rid of prejudice and learn to reconcile with herself, the people around her and the world. After rereading this chapter, the children suggested that today's homework should be to write a letter and tell the truth to your important person.

I was surprised to agree to the children's proposal.

The next day, the children generously handed me the letter. I have always felt that I shouldn't read the letter that the children wrote to another person, but the children trust me unconditionally. So I became a thief who broke into the children's inner world aboveboard, read their emotions, and felt the children's real world.

In the afternoon self-study class, I returned the letter to the children and asked them to read it to the people who should receive it.

The children were boiling in an instant, and the eyes eager to receive letters and the nervousness of expecting to hear the truth turned into touching pictures.

Nothing can move people more than truth.

Some students write letters to people who are not in class. I asked them to go home at night and make a video to read the letter. Don't miss this opportunity to summon up courage.

The latter letter faithfully recorded a touching picture in the diary.

Part four? What is more important?

Sarah said, "If you are smart, you are smart. You are cute when you are cute. If you are nothing, you are nothing. "

Is that really the case? How big is the role of dragons in life?

To this end, we held the first "Swan Cup" debate competition.

Students on the positive side think it is important to be long compared with others, while students on the negative side think it is not important to be long compared with others. Because it is the first time to hold a debate contest, children need to learn from the beginning in terms of the process and skills of the debate contest, and build their own debate outline in the notebook while learning.

After the group discussion, the debate officially began.

Although it is the first time to participate in the debate, all the students like this well-founded mutual persuasion activity. Both sides can give examples to output their views. At the end of the debate, everyone gradually realized that the significance of life is far less than a person's quality, talent and hard work.

When a person attributes all the disappointments in life to looks, he will never get out of my quagmire.

Part five? The pace of life

In the last chapter of Summer Swan, Sarah saw herself sitting on the huge steps in prison clothes. Everyone appeared on the dazzling white steps, and dad sat on the bottom step and didn't want to work hard anymore.

These metaphors are really difficult for children to understand at first, and the children reread this chapter in the final analysis and discussion.

In this week's reading, the children faced up to their own troubles and caught a glimpse of others' troubles. We gradually stepped out of ourselves in the letters of self-expression and exchange, and looked around, with no future in sight. After the debate, the students also understood that the road of life is not a one-way street.

After this rereading, everyone seems to understand gradually. ...

"The pace of life, I think, is the difficulty of life."

"The step Sarah just took was the disappearance of her brother Charlie."

"I think it is also a step for her to pay too much attention to herself."

"Everyone is sitting on the steps, which shows that Sarah no longer only has her own eyes."

"Dad can't cross that step, it should be that mom is dead ..."

Listening to the children's speeches, my heart was filled with emotion.

Our children grew up in this book.

The growth of this * * * emotional ability is intangible, but it can really be felt.

The autumn wind is bleak, but I feel extremely warm at the moment. This book retains the warmth that is worth hiding in our hearts.
