The Origin of Wudian Place Names
Note 2 of Luo Qing Township: Learn to live longer-it is natural to be martial and arrogant, but it should also have the flavor of mountains and rivers. Because of thrift, mulberry planting is filial piety-it is called Wudian because it is a profession of shooting martial arts. Yue Xunzi said to kill the tiger and cover the sky.
From the above passage, we can know that Wudian is located in mountainous and hilly areas, and its folk customs are similar to those of Shouzhou. It is brave, bold and indomitable. In the Ming dynasty, there were many wild animals here, and some mountain people made a living by hunting, hence the name Wudian. This shows that Wudian is famous for its folk customs and martial arts hunting. I think this is the real origin of Wudian place names.
Note 1: The New Book of Fengyang was compiled by Yuan Wenxin, the magistrate of Fengyang County during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, with eight volumes, referred to as "Feng Shu".
Note 2: Luo Qing Township refers to Luo Qing Township, Fengyang County in Ming Dynasty. At that time, Fengyang County was divided into five towns: Taiping, Yongfeng, Guangji, Hongxian and Luo Qing. Luo Qing Township is located in the southwest of Fengyang County, from Liu Fuxi to Wudian. In Ming Dynasty, Wudian belonged to the sixth map of Luo Qing Township.
