Climate characteristics of Qiantang Village

(1) Rainfall is abundant but unevenly distributed. The average annual rainfall reaches 1688.3 millimeters, with the rainfall from April to September accounting for 84% of the year, and the rainfall from October to March of the following year accounting for only 16%. The annual rainfall peaks in early June.

(2) The climate is warm, with long summers and short winters. The annual average temperature is 21.4℃, the highest temperature is 38.3℃ in July, and the lowest temperature is 13.2℃ in January. The average monthly temperature from March to December every year is greater than 15℃. Only in January and February the monthly average temperature is less than 15

℃.

(3) There is sufficient sunshine and the difference is large. The annual sunshine hours average 1996.6 hours.

(4) Monsoon prevails, and the southeast monsoon is dominant. The southeasterly wind prevails in spring, summer and autumn, and is stronger in summer. The northerly wind prevails in winter (November to January of the following year).

(5) Common disaster weather include low temperature rain, heavy rain, typhoon, low temperature frost and cold dew wind. There are also tornadoes, hail and

spring drought.
