Where does Typhoon Sura affect Guangdong?
On September/KOOC-0/day/KOOC-0/3, the center of Typhoon Sura No.9 was located on the sea surface about/KOOC-0/65 km south-east of Hong Kong, and the maximum wind force near the center was/KOOC-0/7 (super typhoon level). It is estimated that "Sura" will move from north to west at the speed of 1 0 ~15km per hour, and may land in the coastal area from Huidong to Taishan in Guangdong from the night of September/kloc-0 to the morning of September 2, with the landing intensity of14 ~16. It may also move southwest along the coastal surface of central Guangdong.
Affected by Sura, there will be heavy rains in most parts of Guangdong, southern Fujian, southwestern Guangxi, Hainan and other places, with a cumulative area rainfall of 60 ~ 120 mm; Among them, there will be heavy rainstorms in parts of southeastern Fujian, central coastal areas of Guangdong and southeastern Guangxi, with cumulative area rainfall of 150 ~ 240mm, exceeding 250mm in some areas, and there may be short-term heavy precipitation with hourly rain intensity exceeding 80 mm.

Common effects of typhoons on weather
1. Strong wind: There are violent storms in the typhoon core area, and the wind is usually very strong, which may reach or exceed the hurricane level. Strong winds can cause trees to collapse, houses to be damaged and flying objects to fly.
2. Heavy rain: The precipitation brought by typhoons is usually very large, which may lead to floods, flash floods, mudslides and other disasters. A large amount of precipitation will also cause road water accumulation and urban drainage system flooding, affecting traffic and urban areas.
3. Storm surge: When a typhoon lands or approaches the coast, it will form a storm surge, that is, the sea water will rise due to the wind. Storm surge will lead to seawater intrusion, coastal erosion and inundation of coastal areas.
4. Thunderstorms and tornadoes: Typhoon processes are often accompanied by intense thunderstorm activities, which may produce extreme weather phenomena such as lightning, thunderstorm gale and tornado.
