The cold weather in Beijing is unbearable not only for people, but also for turtles. Although the tortoise is a hibernating animal, it needs to keep warm in winter to survive normally. So, the staff of Beijing Zoo installed heating, put on sweaters and used Yuba to keep warm. In this way, the room temperature around the tortoise can be kept at 25 degrees Celsius. Although the cost of heating and yuba is large, these costs are necessary for the healthy growth and life of tortoises who have been taken care of for many years. After putting on the sweater, the little turtle felt so cute that the visitors in the zoo were amazed.

First, turtles are warm-blooded animals.

The tortoise's body temperature will change. In different environments, the tortoise's body temperature will rise and fall. The tortoise should control its body temperature, otherwise it will be anorexia, physiological confusion and so on, leading to death. Usually, turtles have a long life span and can grow in complex environments such as silt, sand and loose soil.

Second, the temperature should be controlled when the tortoise hibernates.

Not all turtles hibernate. Hibernation is a way for turtles to recuperate. When the ambient temperature drops below 15℃, the tortoise begins to hibernate, and it will not wake up until the temperature rises above 15℃. Turtles don't eat or drink during hibernation, but they should control the temperature and hibernate in water and wet sand as much as possible, so that turtles can be safe. If it is too cold in winter, turtles will freeze to death, so control the temperature when hibernating. It is risky for turtles to hibernate normally, so everyone should pay special attention to it.

Third, turtles have poor adaptability to environmental temperature.

Turtle must keep warm in winter, which not only has a high safety factor, but also can grow rapidly. The tortoise is in a suitable temperature environment, its food intake and activity are maintained at a normal level, and the tortoise is in good condition. The tortoise is not a warm-blooded animal, its body temperature changes with the environment, and its adaptability to the environmental temperature is very poor.
