Speaking of rivers, as a native of China, I will think of the Yellow River like my mother. The Yellow River lies in the north of China. It originated in Bayan Kara, China, flowed through many provinces and finally flowed into Bohai Sea. Such a big river, with a total length of 5464 kilometers, is the sixth longest river in the world. With a total length of 5,464 kilometers, it is still only the sixth longest river, so isn't the world's longest river even worse? Today our protagonist is the longest river in the world.

The longest river in the world is the Nile, with a total length of 6,670 kilometers. It originates from the Burundi Plateau in northeast Africa and flows through Rwanda, Kenya, Sudan, Egypt and other African countries. Finally, the river is divided into many small tributaries and finally flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Such a big river has also brought many resources to its coastal people.

It is said that water is the source of life. For many African countries that are already short of water, the Nile is their mother river. And such a big river belongs not only to a small country, but also to a continent and even the whole world.

Then, for this river that exudes the breath of life, countries that regard it as the mother river must try their best to make good use of it. Among these countries that want to use it, there must be a country called Egypt.

Egypt lies in the lower reaches of the Nile. When we first mentioned this country, hot weather, strange sphinxes and mysterious pyramids were mostly in our minds, and yellow sand was everywhere. Yes, Egypt has a tropical desert climate, with high temperatures and little precipitation all year round. 90% of Egypt is desert. Seeing this, think about our foggy and rainy south of the Yangtze River and Sichuan where it is raining cats and dogs at night. Everyone will definitely sigh: This country is so thirsty. ?

How on earth did these Egyptians who were constantly experiencing thirst survive? Thanks to the Nile. Although the area of Egypt has reached1100,000 square kilometers, due to the limitation of water resources, most Egyptians live on both sides of the Nile. Undeniably, the Nile is also the mother of the Egyptians, and can even be regarded as a river of life-saving.

So when these Egyptians saw the yellow sand and the slowly flowing river everywhere, did they ever think about nourishing the dry land with this moist water source? Of course, but it didn't work out in the end.

In the forties and fifties of last century, due to the scarcity of precipitation, facing the dry desert, Egyptian leaders came up with the idea of irrigating the desert with river water. The dream of turning a barren land into an oasis. They think that the lower reaches of this river pass through their land, so that the utilization of water resources will not affect other countries, and they are attracted by tangible benefits.

But they forget that the Nile is an international river, and they are not the only ones downstream. As soon as they started to implement this idea, they were stopped by Sudan, which was also downstream. For a time, armed conflicts and violent attacks emerged one after another, and Egypt's dream was shattered.

Of course, there are other reasons why this river is not used to irrigate the desert. For example, the Nile is located in Africa and has a large evaporation capacity. Although its length is amazing, the actual amount of water is not much. If all the downstream water sources are used to irrigate the desert, the amount of water flowing into the Mediterranean will be greatly reduced, and salinization and seawater erosion will occur in the fertile areas of the estuary.

Coincidentally, that fertile land is the seaport and territory of Egypt. This fragile country will certainly not give up the fertile land it has, or it may be the only land of that illusory dream.

Of course, these two reasons are both external reasons, and what blocks them most is actually their own problems. Egypt is a developing country, and it is not rich. Apart from tourism, agriculture should support this country's economy. With low income, local finance really can't get money.

Maintaining the stability of the national economy is a difficult problem, let alone developing science and technology. Therefore, the technology of water diversion irrigation and desert reconstruction is also lacking. Even if people take pains to lead the river to the desert, they may not be able to turn the bare desert into an oasis. On the contrary, they will cause disputes and affect their country.

Finally, due to these obstacles, Egypt gave up introducing the Nile into the desert. The desert has not become an oasis, and the Luohe River still flows slowly in its place, quietly watching this humble and barren land.

There are many obstacles and yellow sand everywhere, which is the hardship given to them by nature. But this is also an obstacle for Egypt. If we have technology, if we have money and if we have influence, we will not be hit by reality. We have more ways to turn the desert into an oasis.

Therefore, I am glad that we were born in a powerful country, and we don't have to face drought and disputes like Egypt.
