Why does it rain on Tanabata?
In the traditional meteorology of China, Tanabata is called "Tanabata Rain". This is because Tanabata is in summer, with high temperature and humidity and frequent weather system activities, which is easy to form convective clouds and showers.
Besides the change of weather system, the rain on Qixi also has a certain relationship with natural phenomena. On Tanabata, when the sun passes through Tianhe, it will be blocked by Tianhe, and the light will be blocked to a certain extent. This shading will cause the ground temperature to drop, forming a cooler climate, and also promote the condensation of water vapor, thus forming rainfall.
The rain on Tanabata is also related to the rotation of the earth. The rotation of the earth makes the air flow on the ground change to some extent, and this change will also affect the formation of rainfall. On Tanabata, the earth rotates faster and the airflow is more intense, which provides certain conditions for rainfall.
