Taishan|You may not be able to find a more comprehensive mountain climbing guide than this one
As a native of Shandong, I also went to university in the mainland of Shandong. Naturally, I have climbed Mount Tai countless times, including the four most common mountaineering routes, including the Mount Tai Marathon and the 60-kilometer hike around Mount Tai. Have participated. Let me first correct everyone's concept. Mount Taishan does not only have one climbing road, the Red Gate. There are many other roads, large and small, that go up the mountain. The Red Gate road is mainly for cultural scenery, while other roads can provide better views. Enjoy the natural scenery. Below I will summarize some of my mountaineering strategies ~ (this article is for strategies, I will write travel notes in the future)
Mount Taishan is located in Taishan District, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, which is different from some other famous mountains in my country. Dachuan and Mount Tai are located almost in the center of Tai'an City, with extremely convenient transportation, which also provides great convenience for climbing.
Tai'an City has a railway station, Taishan Station, and a high-speed rail station, Tai'an Station. Taishan Station is closer to Taishan, while Tai'an Station is farther from the city. Tai'an City does not have an airport, but the nearby Jinan City has Yaoqiang Airport (4E), and Jining City has Qufu Airport (4C).
If you are taking a train (complaining about T179 and T180...I have never seen these two cars not delayed...), after getting off the train at Taishan Station, there will be many black cars soliciting passengers and asking you if you are going there. Taishan, I suggest you try not to take a scam car. You may think that your anti-fraud skills are very good, but they can deceive you in ways you can’t think of, and they can’t do it without them.
If you choose the Hongmen or Tianwai Village tour route, you can take bus No. 3 (2 yuan) directly at Taishan Station (you can scan the code with Alipay) or take a taxi (the fare is about 10 yuan).
If you choose to climb the Taohuayu tourist route, you can take bus No. 16 from Taishan Station.
If you choose to climb the Tianzhu Peak tour route, you can take bus No. 19 from Taishan Station.
If you are taking the high-speed rail, you can take bus No. 37 to Hongmen or Tianwai Village after getting off the station. You can also choose to take a taxi from Tai'an Station to Hongmen or Tianwai Village, which takes about 40 minutes. The fare is about 35 yuan.
If you are taking a plane, there is an airport bus from Yaoqiang Airport directly to Tai'an. The last bus is at 21:00. The starting point is at the airport parking area P13 and the ending point is at Zunhuang Hotel. Then you can take the bus. Able to reach near the red door. If you arrive at Yaoqiang after 21 o'clock, it will be more troublesome. You can first take the airport bus to Jinan City, and then take a train at Jinan Station for about an hour or a high-speed rail for about 20 minutes, and you can also reach Tai'an.
It is recommended to climb in spring or early summer, when the trees are still relatively lush, and the mountains and fields are full of green trees, which makes people feel comfortable. Of course, other seasons are not impossible. Each season has its own different scenery. It is relatively cold in late autumn and winter, and the temperature at the top of the mountain will be even lower. You may find snowflakes floating in the sky as you walk up, but this is also a wonderful experience.
If you just want to climb Mount Tai once and enjoy the scenery, then I suggest you climb during the day. If you really, really, really really want to see the sunrise, then climb at night. Because you can hardly see any scenery when climbing at night, you will be tired after reaching the top, and you won’t be in the mood to appreciate the scenery much when you go down the mountain.
If you insist on watching the sunrise, you need to make some preparations before climbing at night. It is not recommended to take the roads other than the Red Gate for night climbing. Other roads are relatively deserted and too dangerous at night; be sure to check in advance. Even if you check the good weather conditions and sunrise time, don’t have high expectations that you will be able to see the sunrise, sea of ??clouds and other landscapes, because it depends on luck! Then, choose the time to go up the mountain according to your own climbing speed. If you don't take a long rest in the middle, you can reach the top in about 4 hours. The night crawling strategy will be introduced in detail later.
If you are a professional climber, please skip this part;
If you take the red door route, there are jackets, fleece jackets, hiking shoes, hiking poles, etc. If you have equipment, bring it with you;
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have it. Wear clothes that will prevent you from feeling cold on the ground. In summer, you can bring one or two lighter down jackets. At other times, you can go to the top of the mountain. Rent a coat. Don’t rent it at the bottom of the mountain. You definitely don’t want to wear a heavy coat going up and down the mountain. It is recommended to rent a coat around Nantianmen.
You can bring less food and water, because there are various grocery stores and restaurants along the way to Hongmen. Although they are much more expensive than down the mountain, they are relatively convenient; in fact, the higher the prices on the mountain, the more expensive they are. , because in some places cars can go directly up the mountain, and the prices in these places are relatively cheap. In some places, people can only rely on people to transport them up the mountain, and naturally the prices are relatively high.
Crutches and incense are also sold along the way. You can buy a crutch. The cheapest one is only 2 yuan, which can save some energy.
No need to mention ID cards, cash and other necessary items;
Taishan tickets are 124 yuan, half price for students, and you can pay via WeChat Alipay. If you want to climb many times, you can also apply for a mountaineering permit. The conditions for applying for a mountaineering permit are as follows:
If you take other roads, there is basically nothing to buy on the road, such as jackets, fleece jackets, hiking shoes, mountaineering boots, etc. Please prepare your staff, food, etc.
There are roughly four routes to climb Mount Tai, namely the Hongmen climbing route, the Taohuayu climbing route, the Tianzhu Peak (Fengchan Ceremony) climbing route, and the Tianwai Village hiking route; in addition, there are also trekking enthusiasts who take the back mountain route. , then we are in Jinan, so I won’t introduce it; there are also friends who want to rock climb and take a different path (the friend in the picture below), I can’t help you.
This is an ancient traditional route and the most important climbing route for ancient emperors. More than 90% of people who climb Mount Tai will choose this climbing route. It can be said that this route is the essence of Mount Tai and best reflects the charm of Mount Tai’s natural and cultural heritage. There are various stone-carved temples along the way, which are very humanistic. This can also be said to be the reason why Mount Tai is the first of the five mountains.
There is a cable car you can take between Zhongtianmen and Nantianmen, but it is recommended to hold on, as Shibapan is just ahead.
Main attractions along the route:
Dai Temple: (Tickets are 30 yuan per person, student tickets are available)
Dai Temple is actually quite far from the Red Gate. If you don’t want to go, you can just take a bus to Hongmen; however, when visiting Mount Tai, you usually visit Dai Temple first. Dai Temple is the largest and most complete ancient building complex in Mount Tai. It was the place where ancient emperors held Zen ceremonies and worshiped the God of Mount Tai. If you want to see it, you must do it before climbing the mountain, otherwise you won’t want to go anywhere when you go down the mountain.
Red Gate:
You must climb high:
No more wind and moon:
Zhongtian Gate:
Ten Eight Pans:
Nantian Gate:
Five Sacred Mountains:
Jade Emperor’s Summit:
Tiandi Square - Zhongtian Gate - Nantian Gate
There is a winding road from Tiandi Square to Zhongtianmen, and there is a mountain cableway from Zhongtianmen to Nantianmen. After taking the car, you can transfer to the cableway and you can easily reach the top without walking. But since effort is saved, money cannot be saved. Ticket purchase office: 125 yuan/person, scenic transportation bus: 30 yuan/person, cableway: 100 yuan/person.
Main scenic spots along the route:
Tiandi Square—Tianwai Village—Black Dragon Pond—Fan Cliff—Aolai Peak—Zhongtian Gate—Ten Bapan - Nantianmen - Bixia Temple - Jade Emperor Summit
Zen Ceremony - Tianzhu Peak - Beitianmen
This road can be said to be the natural beauty of Mount Tai The best manifestation of this is that there are relatively few service facilities along the way, so the equipment needed to go up the mountain must be prepared in advance. However, as the saying goes, "The majesty, weirdness, and extraordinary sights of the world often lie in the danger and distance." If you want to experience the most beautiful natural landscape of Mount Tai, you must take this road.
Main scenic spots along the route:
Zen Ceremony - Tianzhu Peak - Wangtianmen - Sisters Pine - Xiaotianzhu Peak - Beitianmen - Jade Emperor Ding
Taohuayu is about 16 kilometers away from the urban area and close to National Highway 104 and the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway. It is very convenient to drive by yourself. This route is relatively gentle and stretched overall, there are no stone steps, and the route is relatively long. This mountaineering tour has fewer attractions and is not an ideal walking tour. There is a road connecting the first half of the journey, and a cableway leading directly to the top of the mountain in the second half. It can also save time and effort to reach the summit.
In addition, when the peach blossoms bloom in spring, Peach Blossom Valley is also very beautiful. It is worth visiting alone even if you don't climb the mountain.
Main scenic spots along the route:
Taohuayu - Bifeng Temple - Caishi Creek - Chilin Creek - Hongyuchuan - Taohuayuan Cableway
Officially, there are four wonders in Mount Tai: Sunrise on Mount Tai, Jade Plate on the Sea of ??Clouds, Sunset Glow, and Buddha’s Light on Mount Tai. The first three are highly likely to be encountered, and the fourth is a lucky draw. Most of them appear between 6 and 8. The weather is half sunny and half foggy in the middle of the month, and the sun is shining slantingly. If you are lucky enough to see it, you can buy lottery tickets.
If you are hiking in the middle of the night, don’t think about taking other routes (except for mountaineering enthusiasts). There are many tourists hiking in the direction of Hongmen, so you don’t have to worry about safety issues, and you can overlook Tai’an City from halfway up the mountain. district night view.
The sunrise timetable is as follows:
According to the timetable and your own climbing speed (most people can reach the top within 4-6 hours), start early.
Except for a flashlight and a military coat, there is no difference from what you need to bring when hiking during the day;
There are stalls renting military coats everywhere on the road. They cost 10 yuan each and you have to pay 100 yuan. Yuan deposit. Rent a coat when you get to Nantianmen. Don't listen to the boss at the bottom of the mountain and tell you that coats on the top of the mountain are more expensive. The prices are the same.
After arriving at Nantianmen, if there is still some time before sunrise, don’t go up any further. Rent a coat at Nantianmen and rest for a while. Then go up where the wind is stronger and wait until sunrise is approaching. Then proceed to the Riguan Peak.
Sunguan Peak is generally crowded, so you need to go in advance to get a better spot to watch the sunrise.
The Thai Marathon has been "participated" twice, the third time as a participant, and the fifth time as a volunteer. Compared with other marathons, the Thai Marathon is still relatively difficult, with many slopes. If you are a horse racing enthusiast, you can also go for a horse race while climbing Mount Tai.
This event is also held once a year. Around December every year, you can walk around Mount Tai, which is a test of physical strength and willpower.
I have finally finished writing this ramble. There are still many things that have not been mentioned. If you still have questions about climbing Mount Tai, you can comment or send a private message.
In short, I hope it can be helpful to those who climb Mount Tai.
