Introduction of Korean TV
Program arrangement for the above working days. On sundays and holidays, North Korea's CCTV broadcasts from 9: 00 am, and on particularly important days, such as New Year's Day (North Korea also celebrates the Lunar New Year), it broadcasts from 8: 00 am. Take Sunday as an example, the program arrangement is generally like this: after the short news at 9 o'clock, it is usually a documentary. /kloc-After 0/0, there will be International Life, Animal World and sometimes World Knowledge. "International Life" and "World Common Sense" are only five minutes, and "Animal World" is only about ten minutes. Although the time is short, these are rare TV programs through which North Korean viewers can directly peek at the outside world, and they are still very precious. Many countries have been introduced into international life, including developed countries, but more are developing countries. But no matter which country is introduced, there are few high-rise buildings or modern life scenes, usually local customs, natural environmental protection, or new technological development. I have seen two programs about China, one about the ancient town of Jiangnan and the other about the Yangtze River. Generally, it is a science and education film at 1 1: 00, and domestic films will be shown at 1 1: 30, which is also considered as prime time during the day, and the audience can watch it while eating lunch. Korean TV has both old and new films, many of which are still in black and white, and the time is usually about one and a half hours. But there are also many films that don't play cards according to the cards, and they are available for an hour and a half. Even the shortest film I have ever seen is only ten minutes, but shorter films are usually scheduled to air on Sunday afternoon, not at noon. 13: 00 is the "on-demand stage", which is a very important "entertainment program" for North Korean TV. The audience wrote to the TV station to request songs, and then the TV station arranged to broadcast them. Although they are entertainment programs, most of them are revolutionary songs. Usually, songs are accompanied by scenery, or if there is a movie episode, they are directly accompanied by movie pictures, and few singers stand on the stage to sing. This program lasts about 20 minutes. 13: 20, also social education programs, TV movies, etc. After 15: 00, it's time for children's programs. The content broadcast is similar to the children's programs at ordinary parties, such as cartoons and children's songs and dances, but it takes a little longer, nearly an hour. 16: 00 is another heavyweight literary program-Bright TV Stage, which is translated by many people in China as "Bright TV Stage". Compared with the on-demand stage, the variety of this program is a little more. In addition to singing, there are occasional programs like dancing, acrobatics, magic and even cross talk in China, all of which last about 20 minutes. The vocals here are basically performed by singers on the stage, elegant and clean, but they are still too simple and monotonous from today's perspective. Singers wear simple clothes, either national costumes or Korean conservative suits. Duets and chorus, which are rare in domestic TV, account for the majority here, while the pictures of singers dancing and singing on the stage in gorgeous costumes are completely invisible here. Dance programs are mainly ethnic dances. Needless to say, North Korea's acrobatics are still very strong, but the magic is beyond my expectation. I feel that the level of magic in North Korea is not inferior to that in China or even in the West. As for the few cross talks, because of the limited level of Korean, I can't fully understand the mystery, I don't know where the joke is, but I just think their laughter is unnatural. The program arrangement after 17: 00 is almost the same as usual, and there is no obvious difference.
We can feel that Sunday's programs are more important than entertainment programs, but for Korean audiences who are used to variety entertainment, entertainment programs in North China are still a bit "serious".
In fact, North Korea has two TV stations besides CCTV. One is "North Korea Education and Culture TV Station", formerly known as Kaesong TV Station. After transforming into an education station, it only broadcasts educational programs on weekends, similar to the domestic "China Education TV Station". The other is "Wanshoutai TV Station" which is welcomed by North Korean audience (especially Pyongyang audience). Compared with CCTV, Wanshoutai is more entertaining and international. A prominent feature of this station is that it plays a large number of translated films (mainly movies and TV dramas of China and the former Soviet Union), and also plays live video of some international events, and even introduces international current affairs. Because there are only CCTV programs on the Internet, I have never seen Wanshoutai, but it is said that the Pyongyang audience who can see Wanshoutai generally think that the entertainment programs produced by Wanshoutai are more exciting. Only the audience is limited, only in Pyongyang, and the broadcast time is limited, only on Saturday night and Sunday. Even on Sunday, it is not broadcast all day, but from 10: 00 to 13: 00 in the morning and 16: 00 to 22: 00 in the afternoon.
It is said that North Korea's TV industry started earlier than China's, and black and white TV was popularized in the 1970s (China was in the 1980s), but its development was obviously much slower than that of China. There are only three TV stations in the country, and only one is broadcast every day. This situation is rare in most countries, and even countries like Mongolia and Vietnam, which also have no surplus, are better than North Korea.
