The climber prototype

The film The Climbers is based on real events, which also caused a lot of discussion that year. In the prototype story, there were four people who originally chose to climb the mountain, but only three people finally climbed to the top. At that time, the snow mountain environment was very severe, and the more difficult it was to get to the top of the mountain. Especially at the last step, one of them volunteered to be a ladder and let the other three people step on him and climb to the top of the mountain.

1. The movie character: Fang Wuzhou (played by Jason Wu), and the prototype character: Wang Fuzhou.

Wang Fuzhou was the captain of four people who climbed Mount Everest in 196. The other three players are Kampot, Liu Lianman and Qu Yinhua. When the four of them went through hardships to reach the "second step" at an altitude of 868 meters, they faced a rock wall with a slope of 85 degrees and a height of about 6 meters. At the suggestion of Liu Lianman, a fireman, four people climbed the ladder, and Liu Lianman himself served as the base. Finally, exhausted Liu Lianman gave up the summit. Wang Fuzhou actually survived that night and successfully joined the three players who returned from the summit. The oxygen bottle and sugar he saved also helped everyone to climb down the mountain. Wang Fuzhou weighed 16 Jin when he went up the mountain, and only 11 Jin after he went down. However, in this mountaineering operation, there are still players Wang Ji and Guo Ziqing who paid the price of their lives.

2. Movie character: Qu Songlin (played by Zhang Yi), prototype character: Qu Yinhua

The prototype of Qu Songlin (Zhang Yi) is Comrade Qu Yinhua. He really took off his alpine boots and climbed the "second step", and his feet were exposed to the cold for a long time, resulting in ten toes being amputated. When reaching the summit of Mount Everest in 1975, his teammates used the steel cone laid by Qu Yinhua 15 years ago to set up a metal ladder of nearly 6 meters on the "second step". Up to now, this "China ladder" has helped thousands of climbers reach the top of the earth.

3. Movie character: Li Guoliang (played by Jing Bo Ran), prototype character: Wu Zongyue

On May 5th of that year, when the commando team marched to the last camp at an altitude of 8,6 meters, Wu Zongyue untied the rope and walked behind the team to make a film in order to record the precious footage of athletes climbing above 8,2 meters fighting with nature. The team advanced, but Wu Zongyue gradually fell behind. At about 9 pm, the team members who arrived at the assault camp didn't see him, and immediately went to meet him on the March road. However, the night was boundless, and there was no sign of Wu Zongyue.

On May 28th, when the mountaineering team descended from the peak to an altitude of 8,2m, I saw Wu Zongyue's backpack, oxygen bottle, ice pick and camera neatly placed on the edge of the cliff, but there was no trace of people. When going down to 8, meters, the team members saw that Wu Zongyue had been buried in the snow-white embrace of Mount Everest at the place where weathered rocks and ice and snow mixed at the top of the cliff.

4. Movie character: Yang Guang (played by Hugh), prototype character: Xia Boyu

Xia Boyu and his nine teammates set up a metal ladder at the "second step" by hand. This metal ladder not only helped these China climbers to reach the summit successfully, but also undertook a sacred mission for 33 years. By the end of 28, it had helped more than 1,3 climbers from all over the world realize their dreams of Mount Everest. This metal ladder has a resounding name: "China ladder".

Xia Boyu praised Hugh's performance in Weibo, and Hugh also participated in the interaction: "I hope more people can get the faith and strength from you."

At 1: 4 on May 14th, 218, Xia Boyu, the same age as China, successfully climbed Mount Everest, becoming the first person in China to climb Mount Everest with artificial limbs.

Behind-the-scenes production

The Climbers was adapted from the true history of China's mountaineering team's two summits of Mount Everest, and shot in Tibet.

The film The Climbers is based on the historical fact that members of China mountaineering team climbed Mount Everest twice in 196 and 1975, and tells the story that China mountaineering team completed the first summit on the north slope of the world and surveyed the "China height" of Mount Everest by China himself, paying tribute to the real mountaineering hero. In the preparatory period of the film, Jason Wu once saw the story of Xia Boyu, a member of the mountaineering team in 1975, and was very impressed by his story of climbing to the top of Mount Everest step by step with prosthetic limbs. This plot also appeared in the film in the form of eggs.

It is undoubtedly of symbolic significance to shape the image of climbers, but how to complete a responsible and emotional visual masterpiece in the shortest time is the biggest problem. The film was officially launched on January 5, 219, and it is scheduled to be released on September 3. The theme is a mountaineering story with extremely high requirements on location. Most of the shooting time is concentrated after spring, and the weather is not suitable for shooting snow-capped mountains. A large number of green screen synthetic scenes mean a huge amount of special effects. Producer Tsui Hark believes that this film can be made, but it will take at least three years.

Gao Qiang's difficulty discouraged many directors, and finally director Li Rengang took on the heavy responsibility. Li Rengang always stressed: "We don't want to shoot a hard story of so-called heroic dedication, but we want the audience to feel the greatest sincerity." Therefore, a lot of scenes in the film fall on the brotherhood and love among climbers.
