How did Xu Zhimo die?

193 1 year1month 19 died in a plane crash.

Reason:

(1) At 8 o'clock in the morning, Xu Zhimo flew north from Nanjing by China Airlines "Jinan" postal plane. He was going to attend the lecture on China architecture art held by Lin for foreign envoys in the small auditorium of Peking Union Medical College that night.

(2) The fog is so heavy that it is difficult to tell the course. In order to find an accurate route and reduce the flying height, the pilot accidentally hit the mountain (now Guyunhu Sub-district Office of Changqing District, Jinan City) and then fell into the valley, causing the fuselage to catch fire and all the people were killed.

(3) Lu Xiaoman refused to go north. In the fog, the host, Miss Wang, was busy preparing for her daughter's wedding the night before, and her spirit was too poor when flying.

First time: Xu Zhimo's cemetery was originally in Wanshiwo, Agate Valley, Dongshan. Hu Shizhi wrote "The Tomb of the Poet Xu Zhimo", but the cemetery disappeared in the turmoil.

Second time: Xu Shenru, Xu Zhimo's father, thought that the tombstone inscribed by Mr. Hu Shi was too short and asked Ling Shuhua to write another inscription for Xu Zhimo. Ling Shuhua readily agreed that her inscription was taken from Cao Xueqin's meaning of "Leng Yue buried the soul of flowers" and transformed into "Leng Yue reflected the soul of poetry". This tombstone was also lost in the turmoil.

The third time: Xu Zhimo's cemetery has been destroyed because of the turmoil. In order to commemorate it, people in their hometown moved Xu Zhimo's cemetery to Baishui Spring at the northern foot of Xishan Mountain with government funds. On both sides of the tombstone is a book-shaped sculpture made of white stone, engraved with famous sentences such as Xu Zhimo's Farewell to Cambridge.
