Aksai Kazak Autonomous County (hereinafter referred to as Aksai County) belongs to Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, and is located at the intersection of Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang provinces. It is the only minority autonomous county with Kazak as the main body in Gansu Province and one of the three Kazak autonomous counties in China.

The development of history

The former Aksai Kazak Autonomous County is located in the alluvial fan area of Altun Mountain in Boluo Zhuanjinggou, 2800 meters above sea level. People living in county towns, except a few people who make a living by normal work, nomadic is the main way of life of local people.

1953, Haizi, south of Dunhuang County, established the Preparatory Committee of Aksai Kazak Autonomous Region as the central district.

On April 26th, 1954, Aksai Kazak Autonomous Region (county-level) was established and transferred to Boluo.

1955 changed its name to Aksai Kazak Autonomous County.

In the early days of the establishment of the county, the party and the government took out funds and allocated a large number of daily necessities for free, and implemented a "supply system" for Aksai for three years.

During the more than 40 years from 1954 to the early 1990s, the living conditions of herders were still difficult, and problems related to people's vital interests, such as drinking water, traveling, seeing a doctor and going to school, were not solved.
