"Black Technology" made in Changchun! How strong is the irradiance spectrometer that tracks the sun?

At 7: 28 on July 5, 2002/KLOC-0, Fengyun-3 E, known as the "Li Xing" that started a new journey, took the Long March 4 C carrier rocket and was successfully launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The solar irradiance spectrometer developed by Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics is one of the payloads of Li Xing. Its main task is to obtain high-precision fine spectral irradiance data of space solar ultraviolet-visible-near infrared band, and monitor the influence of small changes in solar spectral components on the earth's atmospheric structure, surface temperature, natural weather and climate change.

The important role of solar radiation spectrometer

On August 3, 20021year, the standby exhaust phase of the solar irradiance spectrometer ended and the sun tracking observation began. For the first time in China, the hyperspectral irradiance information of the space solar omnipotence spectrum is obtained, which clearly shows the rich Fraunhofer lines of the sun and its fine structure. Solar radiation is the most important external energy of the earth, which fundamentally determines the thermal structure and composition of the atmosphere, and 99% of its total energy is concentrated in the ultraviolet-visible-infrared band. Ultraviolet radiation changes the molecular distribution in the atmosphere, thus causing a series of chemical reactions, especially affecting the formation of stratospheric ozone, providing the main heat source for the middle atmosphere; Visible near-infrared radiation can reach the lower atmosphere and the earth's surface, making it warm. Therefore, observing and studying the solar spectrum is of great scientific significance.

The observed spectral data were obtained for the first time by FY3E solar irradiance spectrometer.

The team members successfully completed the development task after 7 years.

The UV Spectroscopy and Imaging Technology Laboratory of Space No.1 undertook the task of developing Li Xing Solar Irradiance Spectrometer. Under the leadership of two project leaders, Wang Shurong and Huang Yu, after seven years of intense planning and research, the team members adhered to the spirit of struggle without fear of hardship, hard struggle and regardless of gains and losses, and United and cooperated, fully carrying forward the fine traditional style of "safety, drilling and fascination". It breaks through a series of technical problems, such as the design and adjustment technology of complex optical-mechanical structure with wavelength scanning mechanism in parallel and monochromator in series, dispersion angle matching of four-grating coaxial components, spectrum matching between spectrometer channels, wide-spectrum stray light suppression, synchronous linkage control and so on. The visible light channel adopts the grating independently developed by Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics, which ensures the working ability of the remote sensor in a wide spectral range and gives consideration to the hyperspectral resolution, and successfully completes the development task.

The first on-orbit application of FY-3 Li Xing Solar Irradiance Spectrometer will greatly enhance China's ability to observe the fine spectrum from space to the sun, and provide strong hardware support conditions for China to monitor complex weather phenomena and climate changes caused by solar activities.
