Yulin City belongs to Shaanxi Province.

Yulin is located in the northernmost part of Shaanxi Province, China, at the junction of the Loess Plateau and Mu Us Sandy Land, which is the transitional zone between the Loess Plateau and Inner Mongolia Plateau. The Yellow River faces Shanxi Province across the river in the east, borders Ningxia and Gansu in the west, Yan 'an in the south and Ordos in the north. This is the junction of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Mongolia and Shanxi provinces, and it has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times.
