What are the commonly used ventilation and cooling equipment in pig farms?

(1) Ventilation equipment

In order to eliminate harmful gases in the pig house, reduce the temperature in the pig house and locally adjust the temperature, ventilation must be carried out, and the amount of ventilation should be based on Calculated based on the carbon dioxide or water vapor content in the house.

① Whether to use mechanical ventilation can be determined based on the specific conditions of the pig farm: For pig farms with small pig houses, small spans, and many doors and windows, in order to save energy, natural ventilation can be used. Ventilation; if the pig house has a large space, a large span, and a high density of pigs, especially a fully or semi-slatted floor pig farm that uses water to flush manure or soak manure, mechanical forced ventilation must be used.

② Ventilator configuration There are many options for ventilator configuration, among which the following are commonly used: side entry (mechanical), top row (natural) ventilation; top entry (natural), bottom row (mechanical) Ventilation; mechanical air intake (inside the house), underground exhaust and natural exhaust; longitudinal ventilation, air intake at one end (natural) and exhaust at the other end (mechanical). See Figure 13.

③ Precautions No matter which ventilation scheme is adopted, the following points should be paid attention to: First, avoid short circuit of fan ventilation, and the deflector should guide the direction of flow, the axial flow fan must not be placed on the wall with the door below it to short-circuit the air flow. This will consume electricity and will not contribute to ventilation in the house; secondly, if single-side exhaust is used, it should be Set the exhaust outlets of adjacent pig houses on opposite sides to prevent the turbid air discharged from one pig house from being immediately inhaled by the other pig house; third, try to allow the air flow to pass through most of the space in the pig house, especially It is important not to create dead corners in the manure ditch to achieve the purpose of ventilation.

(2) Cooling equipment

① Water evaporative air cooler Water evaporative air cooler is often used to cool pig houses. Since this air cooler relies on water evaporation, it will When used under climatic conditions, the cooling effect is good. If the ambient air humidity is high, the cooling effect is slightly worse.

② Spray cooling system Some pig farms use a spray cooling system in the pig house, which sprays water mist through a sprayer, evaporates and absorbs heat in the space inside the pig house, and reduces the air temperature in the pig house. If the tap water system in the pig farm has sufficient pressure, there is no need for a water pump to pressurize it, but a filter is still necessary. Otherwise, the sprayer holes may be clogged and normal spraying may not be possible.

③Drip cooling method In the sow farrowing house, due to the different requirements of sows and piglets, some pig farms use the drip cooling method, that is, the cooling water passes through the pipeline system, leaving a drip hole above the sow. Aiming at the head, neck and back of the sow, the water droplets evaporate on the surface of the sow's back, absorbing heat and cooling. All the water droplets have evaporated before they reach the ground, making the ground less likely to become wet. This not only satisfies the piglet's need to dry , and lower the local ambient temperature of the sow and the pen. In actual use, pay attention to adjusting the appropriate amount of dripping water.

Heating, insulation, ventilation and cooling can be automatically adjusted through automatic control devices. For example, when the temperature is high and the air is dirty, the air cooler or ventilator is turned on for cooling and ventilation; when the temperature is low, Turn off the air cooler and ventilator, and the insulation equipment will start working to maintain appropriate sanitary environmental conditions in the house.
