The high-speed railway from Weifang to Xinyi is expected to start construction at the end of 2023. The pre-approval of the site selection opinions of the newly-built Weifang-Suqian high-speed railway (Shandong section) was published on the website of Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources on July 18, 2022, which indicated that the planning site selection scheme of the Shandong section of the project was about to be approved, and the approval of the feasibility study of Weifang-Suqian high-speed railway was being accelerated, and construction was expected to officially start before the end of 2023.
