After completing the six-month in-orbit mission, the three astronauts of Shenzhou XIV, Liu Yang and Cai will finally return to Earth. This time, Shenzhou 14 will take a quick return mode, which will take about 8 hours to land on the earth, which is as much as 20 hours shorter than the previous return time of Shenzhou 12.

The task of Shenzhou XIV is very arduous. The most important task of the three astronauts is to help complete the construction of the China Space Station. When Shenzhou 14 astronauts first went into space, the main structure of China Space Station was only a Tianhe core module, and there were also cargo spacecraft connecting Tianzhou-3 and Tianzhou-4.

At the Dongfeng landing site, the spacecraft may land in mountainous areas, deserts, saline-alkali land, Haloxylon ammodendron forest land and water areas with complex terrain. Complex weather phenomena may be encountered during the search and rescue process, such as strong wind, snow, dust and so on. After the landing of the return capsule, there may be engineering situations such as the main umbrella dragging the return capsule at high speed and the door of the return capsule not being opened. These complicated situations and hard working conditions, coupled with extremely cold weather and dark night environment, further increase the difficulty of organizing and implementing search tasks.

In order to successfully complete the search and rescue mission, Dongfeng Landing Site has made plans for tracking and measuring spacecraft, searching and recovering the return capsule, and on-site rescue of astronauts according to the most difficult, complicated, coldest and darkest conditions. The research on the pre-plan was strengthened, with emphasis on the handling training of extreme situations such as reverse buckle of the return capsule, cover burying and deformation of the capsule, and observation posts were arranged in all waters around the landing site. There are plans to ensure that the spacecraft returns to normal conditions, plans for abnormal conditions and countermeasures for emergencies.
