Main responsibilities of Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau

According to the Notice of Shenzhen Municipal Committee on Printing and Distributing the Institutional Reform Plan of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government (Shenfa [2009] No.9), Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the Municipal Meteorological Bureau, with the brand of Shenzhen Meteorological Bureau) is established as the working department of the municipal government, and it is under the centralized contact of the Municipal Habitat Committee. The main functions are as follows:

(a) to implement the laws, regulations, rules and policies of the state on meteorological work, draft relevant regulations, formulate meteorological development plans, meteorological disaster prevention plans and related policies, and organize their implementation after approval.

(2) To be responsible for the management of the meteorological industry, protect the meteorological exploration environment according to law, manage foreign-related meteorological activities within their respective administrative areas, and guide and supervise various meteorological activities.

(3) To be responsible for the management of meteorological data and organize the collection, release and exchange of meteorological observation data and astronomical observation data; Responsible for the technical review of important meteorological facilities construction projects and the measurement and testing of meteorological equipment.

(four) responsible for the management of meteorological disaster prevention work, and undertake cross-regional and cross-departmental joint defense monitoring and forecasting of major disastrous weather; Organizing meteorological disaster risk assessment and disaster cause definition; Participate in tackling climate change.

(five) the management of public meteorological forecast, disaster weather warning and professional meteorological forecast and public meteorological services related to the urban environment and natural ecology, undertake emergency meteorological support services, and manage the dissemination of meteorological information.

(six) responsible for the management and utilization of climate resources, responsible for urban planning, national key construction projects, major regional economic development projects and large-scale climate resources development and utilization projects.

(seven) responsible for the release of public welfare meteorological information, meteorological forecast, severe weather warning, meteorological disaster warning signal and urban environmental meteorological forecast, fire weather forecast and other special forecasts.

(eight) responsible for the formulation of local weather modification operation plan, management, guidance and organization of local weather modification operations.

(nine) responsible for balloon management, organization and management of lightning disaster prevention and detection of buildings, structures and other lightning protection facilities.

(ten) organize the popularization of meteorological and astronomical scientific knowledge, and raise the awareness of meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation and climate resources; Carry out cooperation and exchanges in meteorological science and technology.

(eleven) to supervise the implementation of relevant meteorological laws and regulations, and investigate and deal with violations of meteorological laws and regulations according to law.

(twelve) to undertake other tasks assigned by the municipal government and higher authorities.
