What's the weather like in Canada
Canada has six climatic zones, each with different climatic characteristics:
(1) The Arctic is the most part of Yukon and Northwest China, and it is the coldest area in Canada.
(2) The northern region consists of the northern grassland province and most of Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic coastal provinces. Winter is long and summer is short here, with four distinct seasons and moderate rainfall.
(3) The grassland area is cold for about 5 months in winter, cool for 5 months in summer, and most of the rainfall is in summer.
(4) The weather in mountainous areas is changeable. Most of the time it is snowing heavily, and the temperature drops with the elevation of the terrain.
(5) The climate along the Pacific coast is mild and pleasant, and Vancouver is located in this area.
(6) The southeastern region includes Ontario and southeastern Quebec, Nova Scotia, eastern Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, where it is warm in winter and cool in summer, making it the most densely populated place in Canada.
There are four distinct seasons in most parts of Canada. Spring is the rainy season in most parts of Canada, and the temperature keeps rising. Most plants in southern Canada begin to germinate in March and bloom in April and May. However, the winters in Vancouver and Victoria on the west coast are the shortest and mildest in Canada, about two months earlier.
Brief introduction to climate:
It is the general state of the atmosphere in a certain region of the earth for many years, and it is the comprehensive performance of various weather processes in this period. Various statistics (mean, extreme, probability, etc. Meteorological elements (temperature, precipitation, wind, etc.). ) is the basic basis for expressing climate. Climate is closely related to human society, and many countries have recorded climate phenomena for a long time. During the Spring and Autumn Period in China, the sun shadow was measured by a standard table to determine the seasons. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, there were 24 solar terms and 72 climaxes. The word climate comes from ancient Greek, which means inclination, meaning that the climate in different places is related to the inclination of the sun's rays. [ 1]
Due to the different distribution of solar radiation on the earth's surface and the different physical processes of different underlying surfaces such as ocean, land, mountains and forests under the action of solar radiation reaching the surface, the climate has obvious regional characteristics besides the temperature distribution in latitude. According to the horizontal scale, climate can be divided into macroclimate, mesoclimate and microclimate. Macroclimate refers to global and regional climate, such as tropical rain forest climate, Mediterranean climate, polar climate and plateau climate. Moderate climate refers to the climate of smaller natural areas, such as forest climate, urban climate, mountain climate and lake climate; Microclimate refers to a small range of climate, such as the atmosphere close to the ground and the climate under a small range of special terrain (such as mountains or valleys).
