Can you lay solid wood floors in rainy days?

When it rains, we generally recommend not to lay solid wood floors. The reasons come from the following three aspects:

First, solid wood flooring is a natural material. Although it is painted on six sides, it will still exchange water with the surrounding environment. On rainy days, the water content in indoor air is high. If it is solid wood floor construction, the wood floor may absorb too much moisture, leading to hidden dangers in the future.

Secondly, the keel is generally used in the paving of solid wood floors in China, and the keel we choose is a dry and qualified product, which meets the requirements of balanced moisture content. Laying keel in rainy days may absorb moisture in the air and produce certain deformation, so it may be scraped off during leveling, which may lead to noise of floor or change of moisture content of wood floor in the future.

Third, the water content of the ground. When laying solid wood floors, we strictly require the ground moisture content to be lower than 16%. Because the moisture content of the floor is normal and the keel is normal, even if the necessary moisture-proof treatment is carried out, the high moisture content of the ground will bring many hidden dangers, such as mildew and moisture content uploading. In rainy days, the moisture content of the ground will inevitably rise, which is not conducive to installation.
