Coastal weather

A

In coastal areas, there is a lot of water; Inland areas have less water and more gravel. Because of the large specific heat capacity of water, in a day, water with the same quality absorbs the same heat as sand and gravel, and the temperature of water rises less. The same heat is released at night, and the water temperature drops less, which makes the temperature difference between day and night in coastal areas smaller.

On the application of water with large specific heat capacity: water can be used as radiator and coolant to explain the climate difference between coastal areas and inland areas, the reason of urban heat island effect and so on.

Characteristics and application of measuring specific heat capacity of water.
