Why is Shijiazhuang called Shimen?

Shijiazhuang is called Shimen because Shijiazhuang used to be a small village. Han Jing Railway and Zheng Tai Railway have successively built stations in Shijiazhuang. Since then, merchants in Shijiazhuang have gathered and become increasingly prosperous.

Shijiazhuang was founded in the 14th year of the Republic of China (1925), then it was named "Shi Jia City", and was renamed as Shijiazhuang City in 1947. 1968 Hebei provincial capital moved to Shijiazhuang. The Beijing-Guangzhou, Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan, Shide and Huang Shuo railway lines meet here, which is one of the main hubs of China's railway transportation and is known as the "north-south artery and the throat of Yanjin".

Shijiazhuang is one of the first demonstration cities of scientific and technological innovation, a national semiconductor lighting industrialization base, a national satellite navigation industry base and a national animation industry development base.

Climate:

Shijiazhuang is located at the eastern edge of the Eurasian continent in the middle and low latitudes, close to the Bohai Sea belonging to the Pacific Ocean, and has a temperate monsoon climate. The seasonal variation of solar radiation is remarkable, with frequent high and low pressure activities on the ground, four distinct seasons, distinct cold and summer, and precipitation concentrated in summer and autumn.

The dry-wet cycle is obvious, with long summer and winter and short spring and autumn. It takes about 55 days in spring, 0/05 days in summer, 60 days in autumn and 0/45 days in winter. The annual average humidity of air is 65%.

There is little precipitation in spring, and there is often a northerly wind or southerly wind of Grade 4, and the temperature rises rapidly in March and April. In summer, affected by the ocean temperature and humidity airflow, the precipitation in June, July, August and September accounts for 63%-70% of the annual precipitation, and the weather is humid. In the dog days of July and August, the air humidity is as high as 100%.
