Climatic hydrology

Xuejiawan Town belongs to a typical mid-temperate continental climate with abundant sunshine and four distinct seasons. This is a kaolin mine.

The climate is characterized by long and cold winters, short and hot summers, and drastic temperature changes in spring and autumn. There is little precipitation, mainly concentrated in summer and autumn. The annual sunshine time is more than 3000 hours. The annual average temperature is 6.2℃ ~ 8.7℃, the monthly average temperature is-12.9℃~ 10.8℃, the extreme minimum temperature is -32.8℃, the July average temperature is 25℃ ~ 29℃, and the extreme maximum temperature is 39℃. The frost-free period is 145 days; The annual precipitation is about 400 mm. Due to the influence of monsoon, it is mostly southerly or easterly in summer, and northerly from late autumn to early spring. Due to the influence of vortex turbulence and near-surface topography, directionless wind often appears. Sandstorm is big, and the number of sandstorm days is 35 ~ 60 days, up to 89 days, of which the number of windy days is generally more than half a month. The surface gullies in the territory are developed with dense gullies, and the river network density is 0.25km/km2. The Yellow River is 197 km in the north, east and southeast. Surface runoff belongs to the Yellow River system. In addition to perennial water, Hutai River is mostly seasonal, mainly supplemented by atmospheric precipitation.

Xuejiawan Town has complex landform and simple geological structure, and the overall structure belongs to Ordos single wing syncline. On the basis of the pre-Sinian system, there are thick deposits from Sinian system to Quaternary system, and the stratigraphic deposits are relatively complete. Except for angular unconformity contact in some areas, strata in each era are generally continuous deposition or pseudo-conformity contact. Characterized by sedimentary cycles and regional unconformity, China's strata can be basically divided into three structural layers: Indosinian, Yanshan and Himalayan. xuejiawan town

In the long geological age, after repeated ups and downs of the earth's crust, the sea water kept retreating, and under the influence of external forces such as weathering and erosion, the valleys in the Banner were well developed, forming uneven landforms, and the Mesozoic and previous paleostrata were exposed to the surface. Xuejiawan Town is located in the eastern part of Ordos Plateau, and the terrain gradually rises from southeast to northwest. Starting from the dam beam in the west, the middle part rises slightly along the east to the Su 'aobao line, forming the "backbone" of Zhunqi area, which is the watershed between the north and the south of the town and the dividing line between the natural differences between the north and the south. The eastern margin is inclined, which is the basin margin. In most parts of the territory, gullies are developed, the gully network is dense and the surface is cut and broken. Most gully rivers flow into the Yellow River from northwest to southeast, and the riverbed gradient gradually increases from north to south. Part of the river runoff north of the "roof" flows northward into the Yellow River. There are no tall mountains in the territory, but the relative height difference is relatively large. The lowest point is Mazha village in Mazha town, with an altitude of only 820 meters, and the highest point is in Wulanhada township, with an altitude of 1584.6 meters. According to the difference between north and south landforms, it can be divided into four geomorphic units: the plain area on the south bank of the Yellow River, the Kubuqi desert area in the north, the hilly and gully area in the middle and the hilly and gully area in the south.
