Yushu: Most buildings are civil structures. After the strong earthquake in Yushu County, almost all the houses with civil structures collapsed.

Wenchuan: Most buildings are masonry structures. The earthquake caused seven schools, including two kindergartens, to collapse in Mianzhu, Sichuan, and 1700 people were buried. A large number of schools collapsed in other disaster areas.

Yushu: It belongs to a high altitude area, with insufficient medical facilities, 800 kilometers away from the provincial capital, and inconvenient transportation, which will become a great difficulty for rescue. Wenchuan: Communication in the disaster area was completely interrupted, and communication in Chengdu, the provincial capital, was basically interrupted. After the earthquake, people couldn't get through by cell phone.
