What necessities should I bring to Dunhuang in March and April?
(1) Keep warm. There is a great temperature difference between day and night on the plateau, and the temperature is low in the morning and evening. Generally, every time the altitude rises 1000m, the temperature drops by 6℃, so be sure to keep warm. Even in summer, you must prepare a coat or sweater. It is very cold to stay in the dark temple hall for a long time. Besides, it is also important to keep your body dry.
(2) Strong sunlight and ultraviolet rays on the plateau will do harm to eyes, so prepare a sun hat and sunglasses. There are many ice and snow environments in Tibet, and the ice and snow ground and water surface will reflect strong sunlight. On a sunny day, exposing your eyes directly to this environment for several hours will lead to snow. Therefore, you must wear snow goggles, or at least good sunglasses that can filter ultraviolet rays, when you are in the snow line and above.
(3) The plateau tourist routes are dusty and the sanitary conditions are not good, so it is not suitable to use contact lenses. If you want to wear it, you can consider using disposable lenses.
(4) When I first went to the plateau, due to the dry climate, some tourists were prone to nosebleeds and chapped lips. At Gongga Airport, tourists with burned cheeks and noses can often be seen leaving Lhasa. So bring sunscreen, lotion and lip balm.
(5) Taking some nasal ointment and throat moistening tablets can relieve the discomfort of nose and throat caused by dryness.
(6) It is suggested that you consider taking the following drugs: Jinshi Erkang, American ginseng buccal tablets, aspirin, Bilitong, Niuhuang Jiedu tablets, Ganmaoling, Houyan pills, Zhike dew, Baihua oil, vitamin C pills, stomach medicine, gauze, eye drops and anti-inflammatory drugs.
(7) Beware of heatstroke. The sunshine on the plateau is terrible, especially in summer when you do outdoor activities for a long time. Therefore, you must prepare cool oil, pills and the like for outdoor travel on the plateau, and drink plenty of water. If you find someone suffering from heatstroke, you should move it to a cool and ventilated place as soon as possible, lift your head and shoulders and lie down, take off your coat and wet the patient's underwear with water, constantly fan the wind, and wipe the patient's body with a cold towel to reduce the patient's body temperature. When the patient is awake, he should replenish water.
