Excuse me, when can the early rice in Guangdong be harvested and in which city?

Guangdong Province is bordered by Nanling Mountains in the north and the South China Sea in the south, and has a vast rice planting area, ranging from beaches on the flat sea to mountain terraces with an altitude of 1,000 meters. Guangdong has a subtropical and tropical monsoon climate. The safe growth period of rice is 220-280 days in most places. Rice has a long planting season, such as early rice in Guangzhou, which is usually sown in early March and harvested in mid-July; Typical late rice varieties are sown in late June, heading in1October or so, and harvesting in1mid-October. Autumn sowing is in full bloom in the first half of July. Plenty of rainfall and long sunshine are beneficial to rice growth. However, there are many disastrous weather in Guangdong Province, mainly including: "four winds", that is, typhoon, cold dew wind, sunny wind and dry hot wind; "Sanshui", namely dragon boat water (mango water), autumn equinox water, low temperature and rainy weather in early spring; "Two droughts", namely spring drought and autumn drought. In addition, there are rice blast, bacterial leaf blight, sheath blight, yellow rice borer, rice planthopper, rice leaf roller and other hazards. In natural disasters, typhoons and cold dew winds are particularly harmful. Guangdong province has a large rice area, and the rice planting system is mainly double-cropping rice. The rice-growing areas in Guangdong Province can be divided into four rice-growing areas.

(1) Rice planting area in northern Guangdong. Located in the northern mountainous area north of Shakou, Yingde County. It is divided into two subregions: northwest single-season rice subregion and north Guangdong double-season rice subregion. Paddy fields are sparse, with high altitude, a large proportion of low-yield fields and poor water conservancy conditions. It belongs to the hardest hit area of rice blast in Guangdong Province. The rice planting area is small, the safe growth period of rice is short, and the autumn is cold early, which belongs to the area with heavy cold dew and wind. Typhoon has little harm, less sunshine hours, more spring rains and drought in autumn, so the original seed yield is low.

Early rice is mainly medium-mature varieties, and late rice is mostly early-maturing temperature-sensitive hybrid rice. In some parts of northwest China, except single-season rice, double-season rice is generally planted. Rice planting season is short, spring sowing is late, autumn harvest is early, and summer harvest and summer sowing are very tight.

(2) Rice planting areas in the north-central part. Located in the north-central hilly area from the south of Shakou in Yingde County to the north of Guangzhou, the southern boundary generally passes near the Tropic of Cancer. It is divided into three sub-districts: Hanjiang sub-district, Jiangbei sub-district and Xijiang sub-district. Paddy fields are sparsely distributed and have good water conservancy conditions. About 69% of rice fields are protected by drought and flood. The lower reaches of Beijiang River and Xijiang River are vulnerable to floods, and the Hanjiang River and Beijiang River have serious soil erosion, which often encroach on rice fields. It is the hardest hit area of rice blast and bacterial blight in Guangdong Province. This rice planting area has a large rice area, high total output and medium yield per unit area. The safe growth period of rice in this rice area is short, and the autumn is cool earlier, which belongs to the area with heavy cold dew wind in Guangdong Province.

Double-season rice is mainly planted, and one-season rice is planted in low-lying areas and ponds every year. Early and late rice varieties are mainly medium-ripe. Rice planting season is short, spring sowing is late, autumn harvest is early, and summer sowing is tightened in summer.

(3) Central and South rice areas. Located in the south-central coastal plain and hilly area south of Guangzhou. It is divided into five sub-regions: Chaoshan Plain, Southeast Coastal Hilly Sub-region and Jianjiang Hilly Sub-region, Pearl River Delta Sub-region, Southwest Coastal Hilly Sub-region and Jianjiang Hilly Sub-region. The paddy field area accounts for about 46% of the whole province. This rice-growing area is densely covered with rice fields, with an altitude of 1-30m. With good water conservancy conditions, large rice area, high yield and total output, it is the most important rice producing area in Guangdong Province. This rice planting area is the hardest hit area of bacterial blight in Guangdong Province.

Double-cropping rice is dominant, early rice varieties are mainly late-maturing, and late rice varieties are mostly planted with early-maturing temperature-sensitive hybrid rice or conventional early rice. Spring sowing is earlier, autumn harvest is later, and rice planting season is longer. In addition to two crops a year, there are multiple cropping of rice with sugarcane, peanuts and sweet potatoes.

(4) Southwest rice-growing areas. This rice growing area is located in Leizhou Peninsula. The severe spring drought, coupled with poor water conservancy conditions, has a low proportion of paddy fields that are protected by drought and flood. The safe growth period of rice is long, sowing in spring is the earliest and harvesting in autumn is late. There are many typhoons, which belong to the strong typhoon area of Guangdong Province. The sunshine hours in early season are more than those in late season, which is one of the remarkable differences from other rice growing areas. It is prone to drought in spring and rain in autumn. This is a serious bacterial blight area.

This rice planting area is dominated by double cropping rice, and rice is intercropped with peanuts, sweet potatoes, sugar cane and other crops.
