What geography is there in life?
1. The relationship between clothing and geography
The raw materials of clothing come from different geographical environments. China's subtropical Hangjiahu area in Zhejiang and the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong are the production bases of China silk, and all kinds of silk people wear come from silkworms. Xinjiang is located in the northwest inland of China, with strong solar radiation, and is the most important long-staple cotton producing area in China. People's favorite sweaters and leather garments are mainly made of wool and various kinds of leather which are abundant in pastoral areas in western China. Secondly, clothing style is closely related to regional characteristics. Due to the different temperatures, the costumes of ethnic groups such as Oroqen, Dahan and Ewenki in the northeast are quite different from those in the southwest. As we all know, on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where the roof of the world and the daily temperature difference are relatively large, Tibetans often wear "asymmetric" robes with bare arms, that is, they only wear leather robes with one sleeve to adapt to the changeable climate of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. For another example, in the hot and dry Arab region, people like to wear loose white robes. Third, clothing changes are closely related to climate change. In areas with distinct seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter, it is customary to change into single clothes, jackets, cotton and leather according to seasonal changes. At present, people generally want to buy several sets of seasonal clothes, such as men's short sleeves, shirts, T-shirts and ladies' dresses in summer, casual clothes in spring and autumn, ski shirts, leather jackets and sweaters in winter. In Kunming, Yunnan, where the seasons are like spring, another cultural landscape of "people wear clothes all year round" has been formed.
2. The relationship between diet structure and geography
Because the combination of water and heat in the south of China is better than that in the north, the south is mainly engaged in paddy field operation and rice production, while the north is mainly engaged in dry land operation and wheat production, forming a pattern of "rice in the south and planting in the north", so people's diet structure is very different. China's famous "eight recipes" have their own cooking skills, and there has always been a saying that "sweet in the south and salty in the north, spicy in the east and sour in the west". China is located in a warm temperate zone, with hot and rainy summer, cold and dry winter and high temperature all year round. In the past winter, a small amount of vegetables was difficult to meet, and the supply was in short supply. In order to avoid the waste of vegetables, people pickled them with salt and enjoyed them later, which formed a salty taste in the north, while in the south, it was rainy and hot in summer, low temperature and little rain in winter, and vegetables were abundant several times a year. Coupled with the rich sugar cane, sweets are naturally formed. Of course, then again, it's not that northerners don't like sweets. It's just that there were few sweets before, so we had to use "salty" instead of "sweet".
3. The relationship between folk houses and geography
Throughout the style of traditional houses in China, the selection of materials for building and repairing houses is mostly influenced by local natural and geographical conditions. In cold areas, residential walls are thick, fireplaces or fire pits are built in the house, and windows are relatively small. Where there is much snow in winter, the roofs are mostly towering; Residential walls in hot and humid areas are relatively thin, with small doors and windows and complete drainage systems; In order to meet the needs of nomadic lifestyle, herders who have lived on grasslands for generations often build a kind of folk house-Mongolian yurt, which is very convenient to load and unload. Residents of the Loess Plateau make use of the good vertical characteristics of loess to dig caves to live; In the hot minority areas in southwest China, bamboo architecture is the main building. Today, with the boom of commercial housing development, developers are always considering many geographical factors, such as whether the geographical location of commercial housing is in a prime location, whether there are more people and cars, how business opportunities are, whether the spatial combination of surrounding supporting facilities is superior, such as whether schools, hospitals, shopping malls and transportation are convenient, how the comprehensive quality of the surrounding air environment is, the greening environment, leisure and entertainment design of residential quarters, whether the orientation of houses conforms to the traditional wishes of the people, the degree of lighting and the excellent ventilation.
4. The relationship between tourism and geography
People's travel is closely related to geography. As the saying goes, before going out to see the weather, going on a business trip or traveling, we should know the weather forecast released by CCTV, which depends on people's ability to recognize weather symbols, be familiar with weather systems such as cold front, warm front, high pressure, low pressure, cyclone, anticyclone and frontal cyclone, and reasonably choose travel time, transportation mode, tourist route and the number of things they carry with them, so as to achieve economic and minimum time, successfully complete the work and achieve enjoyment on the way. For example, when traveling, according to the regional characteristics, choose a reasonable mode of transportation: drifting in the mountains and valleys; In the boundless and endless sand sea, we should choose the "boat of the desert"-camel; Choose a fine horse on the grassland where the wind blows and the grass blows low and cattle are raised, and it is as smooth as flying; In Jiangnan water town, we choose boats to shuttle across the river.
