The Historical Evolution of Tantu Town

Tantu Town has a long history. Ancient cultural sites prove that as early as four or five thousand years ago, ancient humans lived here in Honggangzi (formerly known as Wulanzhao) in Sanlixu, the west of Town East, and Mingga, the west of Erlixu, the town east. According to textual research, Honggangzi Site and Baijin Site in Zhaoyuan County are the representatives of ancient sites in the middle reaches of Songhua River. Unearthed cultural relics prove that our ancestors have lived here since the Stone Age. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was the nomadic department of Zhalaite Banner, which was developed in the 22nd year of Guangxu, and governed Pingxiang in the northern section of Taoer River in Dalai County. In the thirty-first year of Guangxu (1905), Dalu was transformed into Tang, which administered the first district of Dalu Tang (five trees). In the fourth year of pseudo-Kant (1938), Tantu Village Office and Police Department in Dalai County were established. After liberation, 1946 set up the smooth road public security brigade, and in August of the same year set up Lubei county and smooth road district. 1In August, 947, Zhenlai County established a district government (the third district). 1958 established the Tantu People's Commune, 1984 reformed the Tantu Township, and 1985 established the Tantu Town (governing 9 villages) in early years.
