The Origin of the Couplet of "Kowloon Ridge Winter Solstice, Liu Ao Night Lantern Festival"

Zhangzhou has never had a prime minister (Huang Daozhou was barely one in the late Ming Dynasty, but he belonged to the small court of Nanming), and Cai Xin was the first person who was "unprecedented", so there are many legends about him. Legend has it that there is an old man at the foot of Jiulong Ridge in Longhai who sells jiaozi on the Winter Solstice at the side of the Land Temple all the year round. When he met a candidate in Beijing, he wrote a couplet, which read: "The day after the winter solstice in Jiulongling".

At first, Cai Xin couldn't match, so he fell into Sun Shan. One day, Cai Xinou came to Liu Ao seaside in Zhangpu. In the evening, I saw a little fishing fire in the harbor, reflecting the bright moon in the sky. With a brainwave, I got the next couplet: "Six Ao Sea Lantern Festival every night."

The following year, he wanted to be the number one scholar. After 18, he returned to his hometown and passed by Jiulongling. He didn't see the old man selling dumplings. As long as the earth temple is still there, go to the temple to pay tribute. Because it was too hot, I took off my head and put it on Lu's head. Who knows that I couldn't take it off before I left, only to know that the old man selling glutinous rice balls belongs to the Land Bureau.

Extended data:

First, early experience

Cai Xin (1707 ~ 1799), a native of Geshan (now Qian Linxi, Banxia Village, Danan, Zhangpu County), was nicknamed Ji Zhai, and his mansion was built in Zhunshi Lane, the county seat. My father died young and my family was poor. My brother and I have helped my widowed mother farm and make a living since childhood. Cai Xin studied hard when he was young, especially listening to the Confucian theory of destiny, which was deeply loved by his uncle Cai Shiyuan.

Second, the position

Cai Xin has served in Korea for 50 years. He has served as a minister in the ministries of government, ceremony, military, criminal and industry, and enjoys a high reputation among the university students in Wenhua Hall. As the president of Sikuquanshu, he worked hard and was deeply admired by the people at that time. After returning to China, he donated money to make peace, set up Yixue, Yicang and Zhong Yi, repaired the ancestral halls of Cai Xiang and Huang Daozhou, and promoted the abolition, so that he could accumulate virtue in his hometown.
