Historical allusions of Gong Ji Town
Nowadays, the abandoned Juyangcheng site, with its own simplicity, silently proves a glorious era ... A site is a solidified history and the condensation of an era. Today, there is a capital site in Taihe Gong Ji Town. This site, which was handed down by local people as a palace, is the Juyangcheng site moved eastward by Chu. Juyangcheng Palace site is the place where the most Chu culture has been unearthed, which reflects that the politics, economy and culture of Chu had shrunk outward at that time. Zhang Huadong, the principal of the Hall of Supreme Harmony Centralized School, has been paying attention to local history. Since 1980s, when he read an article introducing 36 places of interest in Anhui in Anhui Daily, he was inexplicably excited after reading the sentence "Juyangcheng Site, the capital of Chu State, is located in Zhu Zhuang Township, Gongji District, Taihe County". Although he is not from Gong Ji Town, his grave is not far from Gong Ji, and he works in Gong Ji Town. From then on, he began to collect information about Juyangcheng site intentionally or unintentionally.
At the same time, he had to read and hide every issue of my version of "Ancient Style", and in June 2005, he called me and invited me to Gong Ji Town to sincerely excavate Juyang City, which was circulated by local people and recorded in historical materials. I am very happy to receive a phone call from President Zhang. We share the same interests and are fortunate to meet a historical and cultural enthusiast. So after I finished "Uncovering the Secret of Youjia Garden", I originally planned to do more special topics on Ying Shang, but I finally wanted to see Zhang Huadong, so I went to the Hall of Supreme Harmony on February 10, 2006. When I went that day, the weather was surprisingly good, sweeping away the cold and gloomy days, and the sun shone warmly on every grass and tree on the earth. The car was driving on a straight concrete road, and the mood was particularly refreshing. I have no reason not to get excited. It only takes me an hour to come to the powerful palace of Chu State and feel the glory of the capital of Chu State thousands of years ago and the Chu culture of romantic myth derived from it. There are still more than 50 kilometers from Taihe County to Gong Ji, but now the direct road to Gong Ji is very poor, making it difficult for vehicles to drive. When I arrived in Gong Ji, I found that the Juyangcheng site was not in the market town I imagined, but more than 20 miles northeast of the market town. There is no road, and the car is driving in two deep pits sunken on the dirt road. Slowly, the Juyangcheng site came into our sight. It is a wheat field, and the green wheat seedlings are particularly beautiful in the sun. We got off the bus and walked slowly up the slope. After more than 2500 years of vicissitudes of life, it has already been razed to the ground, leaving only flat land and broken bricks slightly above the ground. Zhang Huadong said, pointing to the land under his feet, this is the location of the palace of the King of Chu more than 2,000 years ago. Later, he pointed to a village in the east and said that this village used to be called Xidian Village, but now it is called Mazhuang. There is also a village in the east called Dongdian Village, which has something to do with this palace. A few minutes later, we came to the top of the temple, which is the highest position. Now this highland is a straight village road. Now the east of this road is Fuyang-Bozhou Expressway, and the east is Beijing-Kowloon Railway. Zhang Huadong said that the palaces of Chu were built in the north-south direction. There are not many ups and downs in the wheat fields in the north, and the wheat fields in the south have been ups and downs until the Huijiao Temple in the south of Xidian Village. It is said by local people that this Grey Corner Temple is the temple of Queen Chuping. It tells the story that when Wu Zixu fled across the river with the Prince and the Queen, the Queen was afraid of dragging Wu Zixu and the Prince into the water and threw herself into the well. Wu Zixu borrowed soldiers to come back for revenge and built a Niangniang Temple. In 253 BC (54 years, Chu Gaolie 10), Chu Gaolie led his army and people to move eastward from Chen (now Huaiyang, Henan). Crowded along the way, as far as the eye can see, warriors in armor marched in an orderly way with swords and shields. To put it mildly, this is a national relocation, to put it mildly, this is a great escape. It was to escape Qiang Qin's attack, but because of this, history was remembered by the people of Taihe in his name and in 12, when King Chugaoli was forced to move eastward. On the contrary, it is the capital of Chu Gaolie that makes Ju Yang a brilliant city. Exploring Chu from strong to weak, now people are turning their attention to the site of Fuyang Taihe Juyangcheng ... When it comes to Chu, people will naturally think that it is a big country in the Central Plains. Chu State was founded in the early Western Zhou Dynasty at the latest, and was destroyed by Qin State in 223 BC, with a history of at least 800 years. In this long time, through the continuous efforts of the kings of Chu, the territory has been continuously expanded, which has also created the continuous spread of Chu culture and the gradual prosperity of Chu. And successively annexed dozens of vassal States, large and small, and became a powerful country in Jianghan Basin and Jianghuai Basin. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Chu Zhuangwang once dominated the princes; During the Warring States Period, Chu became one of the Seven Heroes, and twice served as the leader of the joint anti-Qin campaign of the eastern countries. Chu was the first country to use iron, which made agricultural production develop rapidly. Its water conservancy and culture were also in the leading position of the vassal state at that time, especially the poems of Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet of Chu, which became a peak in the history of poetry development and had a great influence on the poetry creation of later generations. It can be said that Chu is a country with a long history, strong national strength, vast territory, rich resources, prosperous population, prosperous economy and splendid culture in the pre-Qin period. However, it is such a big country that annexed the vassals and competed for the Central Plains, but failed to unify China. Instead, it was defeated by Qin until it was destroyed.
So, what factors led to such an outcome? Some historians accuse Zhang Yi of breaking up the front of the six countries uniting against Qin with his golden words. Some historians believe that the six countries have no unity and no mutual trust. And I think this is because Chu doesn't believe in Qu Yuan. If the king of Chu had not forced Qu Yuan to death, the history of Chu would have been rewritten. Perhaps it was not Qin that destroyed Chu, but Chu that destroyed Qin. Because Qu Yuan has always been interested in Guan Zhong, I hope Chu can unify China. But the fatuous and greedy Chu Huaiwang didn't listen to Qu Yuan at all, but trusted Zhang Yi too much. As a result, he broke up with Qi, and he didn't get the land of Qi, nor did he get the land of more than 600 miles promised by Zhang Yi of Qin. It is conceivable that Chu Huaiwang, who became angry from embarrassment, sent troops to attack Qin, but was defeated by the allied forces in Chyi Chin, losing 80,000 troops and being taken away by Qin from Danyang and Hanzhong. Subsequently, the national soldiers attacked Qin and lost again. Since then, the situation in the whole country has been shrinking day by day, until in order to avoid Qiang Qin, the capital moved frequently, journey to the south moved eastward, and finally came to Ju Yang (now Fuyang Taihe Gong Ji Town), which was 12 years. In the history of ancient Fuyang, there was no county with more names than Taihe County. Ju Yang (Ju Yang), Xinyang County, Xiyang County, Lechang County, Xinyi County, Songxian County, Chenliu County, Angelababy County, Bai Chi Town, Wanshou County, Taihe County, Lubotai County, Fubei County and Shoutai County were restored to Taihe County on 1949. The listed 16 place names were used in Taihe County in history. Surprisingly, it's not only the place names of 16, but the big country that Taihe carried the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, which made Chu spend 12 years in Taihe smoothly. In ancient Fuyang, except Taihe, no city was so lucky to undertake the survival of a big country. Is it the innate geographical location of Taihe, or the brave fighting capacity, or the people ... too many questions can't be answered, and the real reason can't be known. However, tracing the geographical location and historical evolution of Taihe County may give us some enlightenment. Taihe County is located in the northwest of Anhui Province, bordering Yang Guo and Lixin in the east, Fuyang in the south, Jieshou in the west, Bozhou in the north and dancheng in Henan Province in the northwest. It is 286 kilometers from Fengtai and Huainan to Hefei in the southeast and 307 kilometers from Huaiyang and Xihua to Zhengzhou in the northwest. It is 209 kilometers east of Jinpu Road Bengbu and 2 10 kilometers west of Pinghan Road Luohe. The county is 52 kilometers long from north to south and 60 kilometers wide from east to west, with an area of 1820 square kilometers.
Taihe was the territory of Yuzhou in ancient times. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was once the frontier of the struggle between Qin, Chu and Wei. The Spring and Autumn Period belongs to the Song Dynasty, on the deer. In the twelfth year (639 BC), Song formed an alliance with Qi and Chu on deer. The Warring States belonged to Wei, and Su Qin said that "there is a new area in the south", which means local area. After returning to Chu, Chu handcuffed Wang Lie for ten years.
