There is a kind of grass called Asparagus. Who knows its habits?
English name: Asparagus sprengreri
Asparagus, also known as Wuzhu, belongs to Asparagus of Liliaceae. Cultivated varieties include Asparagus brevifolia, Asparagus ovata, Asparagus matsudana and Asparagus maculata.
morphology and habits: asparagus is a perennial semi-tendril herb. With long oval fleshy tuberous roots, the stems are clustered and drooping, the base is lignified, smooth and multi-branched, and the length can reach 1 meter. Leafy branches are linear and clustered; The flowers are reddish and fragrant; The oar fruit is bright red and ripens in October-November. The lush green leaves and bright red spherical fruits constitute the unique ornamental value of asparagus. Potters can be used for viewing leaves and fruits in halls and meeting places, and can also cut bright green branches as lining materials for flower arrangement.
propagation and cultivation: asparagus is propagated mainly by sowing and dividing plants. After sowing, mature paddles can be picked and stored in the shade, and then sown in shallow pots in the following spring, covered with glass or plastic film, kept at a temperature of 2℃-25℃ and the pot soil moist, and germinated in about 3 days, until the seedlings are 5 cm -1 cm high. Propagation by dividing plants, that is, the luxuriant plants are combined with changing pots and dividing plants in spring, and each pot is divided into 3 -5 branches with roots, which are maintained in a semi-shady place. Cut off too many roots or too long branches after branching. Generally, 5 -7 root tubers are reserved for roots and 25 -3 cm for branches.
Asparagus likes loose and fertile soil with good drainage. Usually, the cultivated soil is made of 5% humus soil, 2% garden soil and 1% manure (or phosphorus and potassium fertilizer). The soil should be semi-dry and semi-wet during cultivation and maintenance. Because of the succulent root of asparagus, the water is too large and it is easy to rot; Too dry soil is easy to cause yellowing of branches and leaves. In summer, it should be maintained in a semi-shady place, and it is forbidden to be exposed to the sun or the sun. When the air is dry in autumn, it is necessary to spray water on the leaves frequently to increase the air humidity. The room temperature in winter shall not be lower than 8℃. During the growing period, the fully decomposed thin liquid fertilizer dominated by nitrogen and potassium should be applied once every 1 to 15 days.
