Looking for the best route and transportation method for a 7-day tour of Kuala Lumpur-Langkawi-Penang

In order to save time on flying, we decided to put two of the flights on the same day.

From Macau to Kuala Lumpur at 10:50

First go to Macau and take a flight to Kuala Lumpur Airport LCCT. If you want to take an earlier flight in Macau, the Macau Gongbei checkpoint switch is at 7 o'clock. But when we arrived at around 6 o'clock, there were already many people waiting in line to pass the customs, so everyone should go early. There are 2 airports in Kuala Lumpur, so when booking a flight, pay attention to which airport is listed. Generally, all AirAsia flights are at LCCT, and most other airlines from other countries are at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport). This time because of my cousin He was coming from Singapore, so he departed from KLIA. We didn't pay attention when booking the flight, so we struggled for a long time when we met.

From Kuala Lumpur to Penang at 17:50

Because the rendezvous was delayed, the plane could not catch up. All CHECK INs at Malaysia's LCCT airport are machine-based, and you must arrive at least 1 hour in advance. It takes several hours to check in through the machine, otherwise you may not be able to catch the flight. If you are unable to check in in time, you must contact the person working at SERVICE COUNTER immediately. We just couldn't catch the flight this time, there was still 20 minutes left, so we had to buy a new ticket. We bought a new ticket at SERVICE COUNTER and got a 19:55 flight, which was also a few minutes late. I feel that LCCT Airport is like our station. You can walk directly to the plane to board the plane, instead of having a passage like other airports. The location is so narrow. I stood up a lot during the entire flight. I really can't stand having my belly bent like this all the time. Although I'm 157 and 43KG, I'm quite thin, but I really can't stand being so "wronged".

In fact, you don’t need to take those rickshaws to Penang. It is indeed very expensive and the roads are actually very close, so it is not worth it.

1. Cost: about MYR 400, exchanging HKD 1,000 for MYR 385

Take a round trip from LCCT to KLIA for MYR 84.40

Buy Drinks and food cost about 70

Taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel cost 98

Eating after arriving at the hotel cost 100

Paying after arriving at the hotel I paid a 20 guarantee fee, and the hotel said it would be refunded after I checked out

2. Hotel: Super 8 in George Town, Penang

The hotel is quite clean, but for someone like me who is a bit germaphobic I am satisfied with it. The best thing is that the Chinese owner of the hotel can speak Cantonese and Mandarin, which is great. If you don’t have slippers, you’d better bring your own; if you don’t have a hairdryer, you can ask the boss to get it; if you don’t have a clothes hanger, you can ask the boss to get it; if you don’t have a kettle, you have to pour water from the water dispenser near the elevator entrance. We saw three instant noodles next to the water dispenser. Bucket; if you don’t have a toothbrush, bring your own.

3. Eat: Shopping near the hotel

Because we went there on the 29th of the Lunar New Year, many restaurants closed early. We arrived at the Penang Hotel around 10 o'clock and ended up shopping around. Fortunately, we found a Chinese-owned seafood restaurant. The owner could still speak Cantonese and Mandarin. It was very friendly and felt like having a late-night snack at home, haha.

The next day: Traveling to Penang

Actually, the hotel is not very far from the tourist area. If you follow the map and walk, you can get there. We arrived at Komtar first, which is a large shopping mall. , and there was a free bus there, but because the place where the free bus parked didn't look like a station, we didn't find it. Later, we saw a car and went up to ask the driver. The driver took us directly to the free tour bus. Got on the bus at the terminus. The free tour bus terminal is actually near the Surname Bridge. In fact, if you follow the map, you will find many small alleys, including Love Lane, with many youth hotels inside. You will see many foreigners sitting at the door, but we don’t have any special feelings about the small alleys, because Originally there were many in Guangdong.

Then we found the pier to Langkawi and the place where tickets were sold, but when we arrived, all the tickets had been sold out, maybe because of the New Year. Anyway, it will be safer to buy online next time. As a result, we found an Italian restaurant in the building opposite the main station to eat something, and then booked a flight from Penang to Langkawi through WIFI there. AirAsia did not have flights from Penang to Langkawi these days, so I went directly to the Malaysia Airlines website to book the flight.

In the end, we went back to the hotel and wandered around. I also visited the Surname Bridge. I had high expectations for the Surname Bridge, but it turned out to be nothing special. It was just a row of houses built on the seaside. There is no last name of my own, which is a bit boring. To be honest, there is nothing interesting in Penang and I won’t come here next time. Although there are many people who understand Cantonese, I don't feel like I'm in a foreign country at all. I just feel like I'm playing in a relatively remote place at home. Those snacks, if you are a Cantonese person, I feel that those snacks are not special, because you can often eat them in Guangdong. Kueh teow is actually made of flour, and then there are oysters and chee cheong fun. These can be eaten casually in Guangdong. . If you are from a province other than Guangdong, try it if you haven’t tried it before.

One thing I want to say is that people in Malaysia speak English with a lot of local accent. I went to 7-11 to buy a phone card. I couldn’t understand a lot of what the clerk said because of the problem with the local accent. After trying the phone card for a long time, it still didn't work. Fortunately, we asked her to fix it for us before we left. As a result, the phone card never worked and we couldn't make calls, so she refunded the money to us. So if you are going to buy a phone card, it is best to ask the store clerk to help you get it first and make sure it can be used before leaving.

1. The cost is about 550

Breakfast: I had a sandwich, about RM15

An Italian meal in the afternoon: about RM331

Dinner: About RM200

Day 3: Penang to Langkawi

When we got up early in the morning, we went to the place where we had eaten the night before to have breakfast. The flight left at around 3pm. I made an appointment for a TAXI at 11:30 in the morning, then went to have breakfast at 10 in the morning, then went back to the hotel to pick up my things and then went to the airport. It was an easy day. After arriving in Langkawi, we went directly to the hotel. The hotel is BELLA VISTA. To be honest, it looks like a castle and is very big. But we originally booked a family room, but she said there was a system error and the family room had already been given to someone else, and she gave us 3 double rooms. Moreover, its WIFI can only be accessed in the hotel lobby and cannot be accessed in the room. The room is okay and I can accept it for my stay. And the equipment is relatively complete, maybe because the hotel is relatively high-end, with hair dryers and electric kettles. Then after nine o'clock, we freshened up first, and then went to the hotel lobby to book a snorkeling trip for the next day. The trip was RM120 per person, including round-trip transfers and a lunch. Then we went to Eagle Plaza, wandered around for a while and then went back to eat seafood near the hotel. There are many seafood restaurants on the road behind the hotel. They are very crowded, but the one we ate at is not very good. The food is served slowly. The two foreigners at the table next to us waited for their food and paid the bill when it was not served. Gone. Then, he served us the wrong dish. Of course, we were more respectful than just obeyed. The taste was average, maybe because we were hungry, so we ate them all. In fact, I don’t like the feeling of such a deserted Langkawi. I prefer the feeling of a big city. But there is no doubt that the air is good. After the meal, we looked for a place to change money. There really weren’t many places to change money in Langkawi, and we walked for at least 20-30 minutes to find it. Moreover, the shopping mall there was really not what I thought, and the shopping mall was There is also a charge for the toilet. I have nothing to say about this.

Day 4: Lanka Wei Snorkeling

We had a free buffet breakfast at the hotel early in the morning, and then a car picked us up at the hotel at 8 o'clock to take a boat to the pier. In fact, the pier is at Eagle Square, and the boat ride took about an hour. We arrived at PAYAR Island around 11 o'clock. There were many people and the water was very clear. I spent RM40 to keep my luggage, and then took the snorkeling equipment and life jackets distributed to go out. The water is very clear and it feels great to see small fish swimming. The weather was very good on the day we went. The sun was not very bright and it was cloudy. The sun came out after lunch in the afternoon. My shoulders were all red from the sun, and I still felt a little sore on the fifth day. His face turned red too.

We had to go back together at about 2:30 in the afternoon. After waiting for a long time, we boarded the boat and returned to the pier, and then returned to the hotel. The whole body is covered with sea salt, salty. So we all washed ourselves from head to toe in the hotel before going out to find food. We first went shopping two blocks away from the hotel and bought some HOT DOG to eat. Although it was a private stall, it tasted really good. Then I went to some traditional clothing stores to look around, and finally found another restaurant that eats seafood. This restaurant was much better, and the food was served quickly and tasted good. In fact, the price was about the same, but we ate more food this time. Finally, we went back to the hotel to sleep.

Fifth Day: Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur

I bought a ticket at 16:55 in the afternoon. I planned to go to the cable car in Langkawi early in the morning. It took about 45 minutes from the hotel to the cable car, and it was 10 when I arrived. We ordered more, but there were many people queuing up to buy tickets and wait for the cable car. We were afraid that waiting too long would delay the flight, and we were still dragging our luggage. We were not sure if we would be able to take our luggage up there, so we could only watch helplessly. Then we walked around the cable car park. Because we saw a horse riding place on the way, we asked a few people how to get there. Everyone said it only takes 5 minutes to walk. We dragged our luggage and walked on the mountain road. It felt like watching European and American horror movies where a car breaks down on the road and then something scary happens. The movie scene of the incident, and then I walked for about 5 minutes, but I gave up before I saw anything. It was actually quite tiring to walk with my luggage. In fact, the horse riding place is right in front of me, and it’s just 50 meters away. See. Later, we turned back to the cable car park and took a taxi directly past the racecourse and saw that it was not open yet, so we went directly to the airport.

We arrived in Kuala Lumpur at about 6 pm. Kuala Lumpur is really prosperous, like Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok in Hong Kong. There are many foreigners. Our hotel YY38 is in the city center. It takes about 30-40 minutes to walk to the Petronas Twin Towers. Behind the hotel The street is the famous food street Alor Street. At the end of the street is Huang Yahua. We have seen this in the recommendation, so we went in to eat. The roasted chicken wings are very delicious, the skin is crispy and the meat is tender, and the vegetables are fried and taste very good. , we ate all the food, and then walked to the Twin Towers. The hotel staff said it took 15 minutes, but in fact it took 40 minutes. We had to pass through the PAVILION mall. Our hotel is also near many shopping malls. After passing the PAVILION mall, there is a Petronas Twin Towers. The passage cannot be passed at 22.50. We were probably at 10 o'clock. The passage is very long and air-conditioned. It won't be very hot if you walk through it in weather like Kuala Lumpur, but I guess it will cost a lot of electricity. When we arrived at the Twin Towers, they were so beautiful. The Twin Towers were even more beautiful at night. It was worth going.

But the only bad thing is that the hotel is not good. For a person like me who has a little bit of mysophobia, it is really unacceptable and simple. Although the anti-theft facilities are quite good, it is when I get on the elevator. You must use the room card to swipe, otherwise you will not be able to press the floor. Then there was only one cup in the toilet. I looked at it and thought, damn, it was disgusting. It was very dirty inside. I didn’t do it for I don’t know how long. Anyway, I won't come again next time, it's so dirty. The location is just a little better. In fact, there are many other hotels near the hotel. I saw many foreigners there. I will choose a better one next time.

Day 6: One-day trip to Kuala Lumpur

Because my aunt has to fly back to Hong Kong that day, so we sent her to the airport first and helped her CHECK IN, because AirAsia has It's a machine CHECK IN. My aunt doesn't understand English. Then tell her which door to go to. Then, we rounded up at KL SENTRAL. We walked directly to the bus station next to the airport and took the LCCT to the red BUS at KLSENTRAL. In fact, just ask the staff next to the bus. It only costs RM8 per person. Damn it. We didn’t know how to take a taxi before. It was a waste of money. If we go there next time, I will know. When we arrived at KL SENTRAL, we found the exchange shop next to the bookstore with a good exchange rate. It was on the second floor. We had to search slowly. The exchange rate was indeed higher than what we had exchanged in the past few days. Then buy a ticket to Genting at KL SENTRAL. If you take the red bus from LCCT Airport to KL SENTRAL, you will see a small station selling Genting tickets when you get off the bus. It is on the first floor of KL SENTRAL. I bought a ticket to Genting at 1pm. The ticket is a one-way ticket and includes a round-trip cable car. It costs RM10.3 per person. It takes about an hour to get to Genting. The temperature in Genting is higher than that in the city. It's a few degrees lower. It's the top of the mountain after all. The BUS only takes you to the mountainside. Then if you follow the queue of people up, you'll see a lot of people waiting for the cable car. We waited for an hour and a half, and it was so tiring. But if you are ruthless and buy an express ticket for RM30, you can get on the cable car immediately. I personally think this is feasible when time is limited.

On the day we went, it was raining and foggy in Genting. It was great to take the cable car. It was very exciting in the mist and smoke. A cable car can seat 8 people. If the staff arranges for you and your friends to sit separately, you can ask to wait and sit in the next car. The cable car takes about 25-30 minutes one way. When we got to the top of the mountain, we went to visit the casino, and then we came out to take the cable car. It was already after 6 pm. At that time, many people were queuing up to wait for the cable car. Holy shit, we had to wait again. It ended up waiting for about an hour. I can sit down. When you go down, it's even more smoky than when you went up. It's quite exciting when you first go down, because you see nothing under the cable car, you can't see anything, just smoke. When we reached the mountainside, all the tickets back to the city were sold out, so I advised everyone to buy them in advance. We had to take a taxi back, which cost us RM130. It was already past 8 o'clock when we got back to the city. Then we strolled around in the mall and then went back to bed because we had an early flight the next day.

Cost:

Taxi to LCCT: RM90

LCCT to KL SENTRAL: RM16 for two people

KL SENTRAL to Genting + cable car Round trip: RM51.5 for five people

Back to the city center from Genting: RM130 for a taxi for 5 people

Eat + buy some souvenirs: about RM300

No. Seven days: Go home

Wake up early and go to the airport to fly home.

To summarize a few points to note:
