Jiangyin City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Wuxi City, and Jiangyin is under the jurisdiction of Wuxi in administration.

Jiangyin City is located in the south of Jiangsu Province, facing the Yangtze River in the north and facing Jingjiang River across the river. It borders Taihu Lake in the south and Wuxi. It is adjacent to Zhangjiagang and Changshu in the east and 50 km away from Shanghai/KLOC-0. Changzhou in the west is 50 km away from Nanjing/kloc-0.

Jiangyin city is located in the northern part of Taihu Lake water network plain and Jiangnan alluvial plain. The terrain is gentle, with an average elevation of about 6 meters. The southwest edge is low-lying, and low hills are scattered in the middle and northeast.

Jiangyin is one of the birthplaces of Wu culture. Archaeological excavations in this area prove that ancestors lived here in the Neolithic Age. Witnessing Jiangyin's long history, there are more than 20 ancient sites such as Qitou Mountain and Gaochengdun.

In late March 2007, the highest temperature was 29.6℃ and the lowest temperature was -4.0℃. The highest temperature in April of two years was 34.3℃, and the lowest temperature in 199 1 year was 0.8℃. Mid-April to mid-May is the concentrated period of continuous rainy days in spring.

Summer lasts from June 1 day to September 20th, and the calendar period is 1 12 days. June-July is the rainy season, with an average date of June 18 and July 10, and the rainy season lasts for 23 days. May 7th (2 years), June 27th (2005), June 25th (200 1), and July 24th (2007) at the latest. The average rainfall is about 200 mm.
