The new Tibet line refers to the highway connecting Xinjiang and Tibet. It starts from Yecheng, Xinjiang in the north, reaches Gaer (shiquanhe town), the capital of Ali region in Tibet in the south, and then extends to the border town of Pulan in the south. It passes through Xiannankou, Dahongliutan, Rituzong, Gaerkunsha, passes through Lasitang River, Yeerqiang River, Karakash River and Shiquan River, and passes through Daban (which means "mountain pass" in Uighur), the boundary mountain between Xinjiang and Tibet at an altitude of 5,248 meters, and1kloc-0/Kudabun at an altitude of 5,432 meters. Most of the whole line is endless Gobi desert and snow-covered mountains all year round. You can often see wild animals, and some sections are hundreds of kilometers away from people. Atmosphere, desolation and even vicissitudes have become the main theme of this line, which can be said to be quite "manly".

The Xinzang Highway from Yecheng, Xinjiang to Lasi, Tibet is the "Xinzang Line" that we ride, with a total length of 284 1 km (the actual riding distance shown by the stopwatch is different from the officially announced mileage, which riders understand). Among them, Lahu-Shiquan River 1 156 kilometers, also known as the southern line of Ali; Shiquanhe-Yecheng 1 100 km. The average altitude is the highest among all the routes.

The altitude difference in the front section is very large, and the rear section is relatively flat. The pavement from Yecheng to Shiquan River has been transformed into a relatively flat gravel road. When it doesn't rain, the road conditions are good, but if you catch up with the headwind, it will make people miserable and even collapse. The road from Lazi to Shiquan River is very poor. There are many mud and gravel roads, and all kinds of difficult roads are very dense.

After entering the Ali area of Tibet, most sections are no man's land. This no-man's land is almost the most beautiful area in the whole line: wild animals such as Tibetan donkeys and antelopes often appear in groups. Watching them silently from a distance, living leisurely in their land. The harsh natural environment is like a pair of rough hands, brushing their bodies and faces from time to time; And they, happily and coldly bear and enjoy. They are the life given to this land by God, and we are just passers-by!

If time permits, stop and look at the ruins of Guge Kingdom, Rinpoche in the sacred mountain, Yongcuo in Ma Pan in the sacred lake, Sakya Temple, the birthplace of the Yellow Sect, and Baiju Temple with different styles.

All counties in Xinjiang have cell phone signals, but there are few other sections.

Optimum riding time:

The best riding time is from May to the end of July. If you don't want to abuse yourself, try not to exceed the first half of August.

Along the way, strong winds and sunny days (extreme) are commonplace, and dry weather is an indisputable fact. July-August pants, autumn pants, thin down vest, thin cotton coat or slightly thick windproof coat, long-sleeved single coat, fleece coat or jacket or thin sweater, upper shoes. If possible, try to prepare some "high-end" things, such as "GOTEX-TEX" jackets or shoes, which are windproof, warm and breathable.
