Playing with dragons-the origin of Lantern Festival

Every Spring Festival, people beat gongs and drums and play with dragons and lions to celebrate the Lantern Festival. Why do people play with dragons to celebrate the Lantern Festival?

According to legend, in ancient times, the weather was good, the crops were bumper, the people were well-fed and lived in peace and contentment. One year, a disaster suddenly happened in the world. In many cities, floods flooded many houses and drowned many people. Outside the city, there has never been a drought, the fields are cracked and the springs are smoking, which makes people really unable to live. There is a Qinglong who lives in the mountains and has a very kind heart. It sees such a tragic scene between heaven and earth, and it pities the suffering people. It decided to go to the upper bound to find out.

One day, the wind roared and the rain poured down, and the dragon was walking towards the upper bound. It turned itself into a dead man, pretended to have something to find the jade emperor, and passed the worse gate smoothly. In this way, Qinglong dressed up in disguise, skillfully broke through one checkpoint after another, inquired carefully in the upper bound, visited everywhere, and finally found out the flood and

Reasons for the drought: The Queen Mother of the Western Heaven invited the Jade Emperor to dinner; Wang Di likes drinking very much. He drank many bowls of fragrant and delicious manna again and again and got as drunk as a fiddler. After the banquet, the jade emperor returned to the palace to handle affairs, still dizzy, so he wrote the rain wrong-it should be three minutes inside the city and five minutes outside the city. The jade emperor let it rain for five minutes in the city and three minutes outside the city. The city's rainfall is five o'clock, and there is too much rain; It rains for three minutes outside the city, and there is too little rain. In this way, the city was flooded and the outside world was cracked.

Knowing this reason, Qinglong sneaked into the Heavenly Palace and changed Colleen Chan: it was changed to 3 o'clock rainfall in the city and 5 o'clock rainfall outside the city. In this way, the world slowly recovered its true colors. When the Jade Emperor sobered up, he realized that he had ordered the wrong Colleen Chan. He wanted to correct it, but he was afraid that ministers would say that he was careless and broke his promise, so he had to make mistakes. Later, the Jade Emperor suddenly found that his Colleen Chan had been changed, which made him feel great.

Anger: Who dares to change Colleen Chan against my will? So he ordered the heavenly soldiers to trace it everywhere, and at the same time sent people down to earth to ask for an interview. Later, it was found out that Qinglong did it, and the Jade Emperor appointed the prime minister around him to punish Qinglong.

The Prime Minister was sent to the mortal world by the Jade Emperor and found the emperor. Knowing that he was an emissary sent by the Jade Emperor in the sky, the emperor did not dare to treat it lightly, and immediately took out delicacies to entertain the Prime Minister. After dinner, the emperor and the prime minister played chess in the garden. After a while, I saw the Prime Minister snore with his head down. The emperor didn't dare to disturb him, so he had to stand by and wait on him. After a while, the sweat on the Prime Minister's face dripped one by one. The emperor is a little strange: it's the first month, and it's still a little cold. Why is the Prime Minister sitting and sweating? So he asked Gong E to take out a fan to cool the Prime Minister. Fan for a while, the prime minister breathed a long sigh of relief and woke up. The Prime Minister thanked him and said, "Thank you for helping me a lot."

"Thank you? How much help have I given you? " The emperor was puzzled.

"Well, you helped me kill Qinglong."

"What? I helped you kill Qinglong? " The emperor was even more surprised.

"yes." Only then did the prime minister solve the mystery for the emperor. It turned out that the Prime Minister left a figure sitting in the garden, but the entity went to fight with Qinglong. Although the Prime Minister is skilled in martial arts, Qinglong is also practiced. Just as the two sides were fighting fiercely and the outcome was close, the emperor's Gong E stirred up a gust of wind. It was here that a gust of wind attacked the battlefield and greatly helped the Prime Minister. Suddenly, I was refreshed and my strength doubled. After fighting for a while, Qinglong couldn't resist the enemy and was killed by the Prime Minister.

After being beheaded by the Prime Minister, Qinglong became a divine bird, crowing outside the Jade Emperor's Hall all day, pleading with the Jade Emperor. Every day, the Jade Emperor listened and felt ashamed-he wrote Colleen Chan wrong and killed Qinglong instead. He felt very sorry, so he sent a book to the world and asked the emperor to send a message to the people to commemorate the Qinglong who benefited the people.

Therefore, in the first month of each year, people tie bamboo into a dragon, paste it with paper and silk, and draw it with colored pens according to the dragon's appearance, making the paper dragon lifelike and magnificent. On the fifteenth day of the first month (the day of killing Qinglong), every household decorated with lanterns, beat gongs and drums, and carried Qinglong in the street. Men, women and children rejoiced to show people's gratitude and nostalgia for Qinglong.

From then on, every January, we will play with dragons. This custom has been passed down to the present.
