What is the main terrain of Macao? What is the climate type?
At present, Macao consists of the Macao Peninsula, two outlying islands (also known as Tanzai) and a road ring connected by a bridge, with a total area of only 23.5 square kilometers.
Macao used to be an island at the southern tip of Zhongshan City (formerly known as Xiangshan County) in Guangdong Province, standing in the sea, no different from today's offshore islands. Later, due to the sediment alluvial of the Xijiang River, a sandbar (Liangan, now Guanzha Road) was alluvial between Macao and the mainland, which was connected with the mainland and became a peninsula.
There are Lotus Mountain, East Wangyang Mountain, Artillery Mountain, West Wangyang Mountain and Mag Mountain in Macau Peninsula, Guanyin Temple, Tai Dang Mountain (Jijing Mountain) and Xiao Dang Mountain in Taipa Island, and Jiuao Mountain and Dieshitang Mountain around the island. Rock properties are mainly granite and volcanic rocks.
In the Macao Peninsula, the flat area is relatively large, accounting for more than 80%. There are many hilly areas in Taipa Island and Coloane Island, with Taipa Island accounting for 45% and Coloane Island accounting for nearly 80%.
Macao's coastline is 937.5 kilometers long, forming many places for ships to park, such as Nanwan, Dongwan, Shallow Bay, Beiwan, Xiawan (located above the Macao Peninsula), Taipa Bay (Taipa Bay), Jiuao Bay, Zhuwan, Heishan Bay and Lai Chi Bay (located above the road ring). At present, except for Kowloon Bay, Zhuwan Bay and Heishan Bay, other harbors have either been opened as ports or disappeared due to siltation or reclamation, leaving only a historical term.
Macau climate
Macau enjoys a mild climate throughout the year, with an average temperature of about 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) and annual temperature difference ranging from 65,438+06 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit) to 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). High humidity, about 75% to 90%; The annual rainfall is about 1, 778 mm.
10 to 12 is autumn in Macao, with mild climate and low humidity, which is an ideal season for tourism. Winter (January to March) is very cold, but sunny; In April, the temperature gradually rose; From May to September, the weather is hot and sometimes there are typhoons. When the typhoon approaches Macao and the No.8 typhoon signal is hoisted, the two roads in Macao, Tai 'ao and Lu 'ao, will be temporarily closed, and flights between Hong Kong and Macao will also be temporarily cancelled.
Just wear cotton light clothes or T-shirts in summer; When the weather is cold in winter, you should prepare woolen clothes and coats; It's a little cold in spring and autumn nights, so you should wear a sweater or coat.
1. Nanwan: The original site is from today's Gasland Arsenal to the ash burning furnace. Due to land reclamation, the original landform has changed greatly, and its length has been reduced by at least half. Moreover, due to the accumulation of silt, it is impossible to berth ships in the bay at present, and the silt is completely exposed at low tide. At present, the Macao government has enclosed Nanwan for further reclamation and turned it into an artificial lake.
2. Dongwan: The original site is located in the area of Gaslan Arsenal at the foot of Songshan Mountain, from Gouwan to the ancient temple of Tianhou Palace in Majiaoshi. Now, due to land reclamation, it has all disappeared, and it has become the new port area of Macao's emerging business center.
3. Repulse Bay: The original site is Shalitou to Lianfeng Temple in Neigang. Now land reclamation has completely disappeared, and it has become a dock and an industrial zone.
4. Beiwan: The original site is from Shalitou to Sidakou today. Now land reclamation has completely disappeared, and it has become a mixed area of wharf, industry, commerce and residence.
5. Xiawan: The original site was from Shidakou to the Master Temple, but now it has completely disappeared due to land reclamation, and it has become a mixed area of docks, industry, commerce and residence.
6. Taiping Paiwan: Due to silt accumulation and land reclamation, laws and regulations have completely disappeared, and most of the reclamation areas have become racetracks and motorcycle yards.
7. Kowloon Bay: Due to the almost complete disappearance of reclamation, most of the reclamation areas have become power plants and cement plants, while the area around Tai Tan Kok has become a deep-water port for supply ships to load and unload goods.
8. Zhuwan: Due to its back to the Pearl River sediment outlet, the siltation degree is still shallow, and it is currently a tourist area.
9. Black Bay: Like Pearl Bay, it has become the most famous tourist area in Macao.
10. Litchi Bay: The siltation is serious, and it is difficult for other ships to berth in the bay except sampans and wooden boats. At low tide, silt can even be seen above the water in some areas.
The West Ring Road is an exception, with beautiful scenery, Spanish-style villas and high-class hotels. This bay did not exist originally, but was formed after the Macao government reclaimed land at the foot of Xiwangyang Mountain a few years ago.
