Wudi County belongs to the continental climate of the East Asian monsoon region in the north temperate zone, with four distinct seasons and obvious dryness and wetness. It is windy and dry in spring, wet and rainy in summer, crisp in autumn and long, dry and cold in winter. In spring (March-May), warm air began to increase actively, cold and warm air came one after another, and the high-pressure system moved frequently, resulting in changeable climate and less rainfall, accounting for only 13.7% of the annual precipitation.

The average temperature in March is 6.9℃, which can rise to 20. 1℃ in May. Because of less wind and rain and rapid evaporation, spring drought often occurs. The temperature, humidity and precipitation are the highest in summer (June-August). Southwest wind blows in early summer, and there is often "dry hot wind" weather with high temperature, low humidity and high wind speed.

The rainy season is from late June (or early July) to the end of August (or early September), and there are many thunderstorms, which are prone to heavy rain and hail, and the precipitation accounts for 68.7% of the annual precipitation. There are also occasional years of summer drought, which is called summer drought.
